Marvel Rivals Season 4: Ultron Flight Control Tips
Ultron dies first because players treat flight like safe sky. Bind height keys, fly at the sweet spot not the ceiling, use cover flight, save Dynamic Flight for escapes, and move during ult.
Core problem: Ultron dies first because players treat flight like safe sky. He has 250 HP. Open hover is a free hitscan target, flying too high shrinks Firewall and drone heal radius, and wasting Dynamic Flight (Shift) leaves you with no escape. The goal is cover flight: stay mid-low, hug walls, move constantly, and only spend the dash when it saves a life or wins a pick.
1Bind Flight So You Can Actually Steer
Players on controller keep saying default binds fight them.
- 1PC: Space to go up, Ctrl to go down is the common setup people get used to.
Rebind if those keys fight your reload or melee cancel.
- 2Controller: Put ascend on left bumper and descend on left trigger (or the reverse, but keep both on the left hand).
Left hand equals movement plus height. Right hand equals aim and fire. That is what flyer mains use so they can strafe and change altitude without dropping aim.
- 3Hold jump or Space to slow-fall (Algorithm Correction).
Use this to drop behind a ledge instead of slamming into the floor.
2Fly at the Sweet Spot, Not the Ceiling
- 1Stay just behind the frontline or tank poke line, mid-height, not stratosphere.
- 2Stay low enough that Firewall and the drone aura stay large.
High altitude shrinks both. If your team is on the ground, you should be close enough that dropping into the drone radius is one short descent.
- 3Against no hitscan or no flyer pressure, you can sit a bit higher for angles.
Against Hela, Punisher, Hawkeye, Widow: drop immediately and play cover.
3Use Cover Flight, Not Open Hover
- 1Hug vertical walls, pillars, arches. Peek, shoot the beam, duck the wall.
- 2Rotate high ground to high ground, then drop when they commit cooldowns looking up.
- 3After each beam, change height and lateral position. Static hover equals dead.
- 4Play close enough that teammates can heal you if you drop.
Flying so high that only your drone exists is how you get isolated.
- Enemy dive is already on you (Spidey, Fist, Magik, BP).
- You need a new angle after they hide behind a wall.
- You are ulting and need extra HP plus speed.
- You just spawned and must rejoin the fight fast.
- Travel across the map.
- Feeling faster.
- Poking when you still have cover.
4Height and Drone Work Together
- 1Do not park the drone and fly off. Keep LoS so you can slam the drone onto the person about to die.
- 2If you fly too high, the heal and shield bubble around the drone and you gets smaller. Drop when the team clumps.
- 3After respawn: dash toward the team immediately so you are not a 250 HP island.
5During Ult (Rage of Ultron)
- 1You can Dynamic Flight mid-ult. Players use that for bonus HP and to chase or retreat while the rays fire.
- 2Firewall cannot be used during the ult, but you can Firewall then immediately Q to animation-cancel and start the ult already shielded.
- 3Choice: dash early for a safer start position and around 375 HP setup, or hold the dash to escape mid-ult.
Common Mistakes
- Hovering mid-map with no wall nearby.
- Flying max height because I'm a flyer and wondering why heals and shields feel tiny.
- Burning Shift to rotate, then dying to the first dive.
- Never descending. Only going up.
- Standing still in the air to track better. Track while strafing and changing altitude.
- Ignoring controller height binds and trying to aim plus fly with the same awkward default layout.
