What you are building toward

Maximize Scarlet Witch damage and survivability through card upgrades in Age of Ultron PvE mode. The goal is clearing waves of Ultron Sentries and melting the final Ultron boss on Hard difficulty. Card RNG forces adaptation, but the community focus is stacking Chaos Control damage, health-based damage scalers, and ability enhancements while running a high-uptime beam loop.

Card pick order step by step

1Grab all Chaos Control (primary beam) upgrades first. The mode heavily favors beams over other tools for consistent output. Follow immediately with Chthonian Burst upgrades if they appear. Sustained primary fire plus Burst is the core DPS loop.
2Stack Crit rate (aim for x3) and Attack speed (aim for x3) next. Multiplies beam and Burst damage massively on high-volume targets. High crit plus attack speed pairs extremely well with the rest of the kit by the final fight.
3Prioritize % damage per 100 max health (take 5-6) and single-target % damage increase (as many as possible). Add 2-3 melee-range % damage if offered. These scale hard into bosses and elites. Health-based damage turns tankiness into more DPS.
4Add health cards: +250 max health, +80% max health (x2 if possible), and/or +1000 health at wave start. Health is critical for Wanda to scale as a top DPS without dying. Pure glass-cannon falls off late.
5Fill with cooldown reduction (2-3) and any insta-KO or one-shot chance cards. Remaining slots go to more % damage, attack speed, or max health. CDR lets you spam abilities more, especially valuable late.
Always adapt to RNG. Perfect card sets are rare. Skill enhancements (gold cards) take absolute top priority over pure stats. Take strong alternatives instead of waiting for ideal picks.

How to play the build

1Constantly use Chaos Control and Chthonian Burst between Dark Seal casts. This builds ult energy quickly in early rounds and maintains consistent DPS on waves.
2Spam Dark Seal on trash for wave clear and on elites/bosses for % damage. Elites and bosses often resist the stun but still take the DoT. The 1-star Dark Seal hits bosses for roughly 5% HP.
3Use Reality Erasure (ult) heavily for wave clear and burst. Avoid casting it on bosses unless they are very low (around 300 health bars remaining). It is a DPS loss otherwise, and in Hard mode you get focused hard while channeling.
4Use Mystic Projection for repositioning and escaping focus. With multiple Adrenaline Rush cards it becomes nearly spammable, which is a huge benefit against the final Ultron fight.
5Position to stay alive while beaming. Health stacking lets you play more aggressively as a top DPS. Do not trade your life for a burst window.

Dark Seal investment and adaptability

When to invest in Dark Seal

Only if your core (Chaos Control plus health and damage scalers) is already strong. Dark Seal %HP DoT is great for bosses, and Adrenaline Rush enables heavy Dark Seal plus Mystic Projection spam. Without Adrenaline Rush, skip or take lightly.

When to skip Dark Seal

If your core is not yet established, investing in Dark Seal is pointless per tested builds. Focus Chaos Control and health/damage scalers first. Dark Seal is a nice-to-have, not a foundation.

Early round ideal path

If RNG cooperates: Focus Drawn Circle + The More the Merrier, then Shocking Steps + Heavy Hex, then Hexed Earth + Adrenaline Rush. Stack more Adrenaline Rush and ability cards before heavy health and survivability.

Health vs damage balance

Reducing pure %health-damage cards slightly for big starting health can stabilize damage spikes. You need both - health without damage scalers is just tankiness, and damage without health gets you killed in late rounds.

Mistakes to avoid

X Dumping points into Dark Seal too early or exclusively. Neglecting Chaos Control and health scalers cripples your foundation. Dark Seal is a supplement, not the core build.
X Ulting bosses too early. Reality Erasure is a DPS loss on bosses unless they are near death. You also get focused hard while channeling in Hard mode. Save it for wave clear or execute range.
X Ignoring health cards and going pure glass-cannon. Late game and Hard mode will focus you down. Without health scaling you die before your damage ramp pays off.
X Not adapting to RNG. Waiting for a perfect set of cards instead of taking strong alternatives leaves you underpowered. Take what the game gives you and build around it.
X Under-using the primary beam loop between ability casts. Chaos Control is your foundation. If you are not beaming between Dark Seal casts, you are losing significant DPS and ult energy generation.
