Seraphine Botlane CC Build Guide
A permanent crowd-control Seraphine APC build that chains slows and roots for constant lockdown. Built for players who want to carry through setup and peel rather than pure burst.
Core Problem
Seraphine APC often feels team-dependent with weak solo carry potential and long cooldowns. This build solves that by maximizing ability haste and CC uptime so you can spam slows and roots, set up picks, peel for allies, and chain crowd control with your support for easy teamfight impact.
Build Setup
Runes (Arcane Comet)
- Keystone: Arcane Comet
- Manaflow Band / Transcendence / Gathering Storm
- Secondary: Presence of Mind + Legend: Haste
- Shards: Adaptive Force, Adaptive Force, Scaling HP
Skill Order
- Max Q first, then E, then W
- Level 1: Q for wave clear and trades
- Prioritize E points for longer root and slow duration
- Summoner: Teleport + Flash
Item Build
- Start: Doran's Ring + 2 Health Potions
- First Back: Tear of the Goddess
- Core: Archangel's Staff, Ionian Boots of Lucidity, Imperial Mandate, Rylai's Crystal Scepter
- Late Game: Cryptbloom, Cosmic Drive, Rabadon's Deathcap
How to Play
-
Early Lane (Levels 1-6)
Farm safely with Q. Prioritize CS over aggressive trades. Use Comet with Q and E pokes when your support sets up an engage. Stay near your support for passive notes value.
Key: Do not overextend before Archangel's. You will run out of mana and lose trades. Play patient and scale. -
Mid Game (Mandate + Rylai's Online)
This is your power spike. Spam E from range to slow and root enemies. Follow with Q echoes for damage. Use R for multi-man engages or defensive peels when your team gets dove.
Mandate applies bonus damage on every E hit and Rylai's makes enemies easy to chain CC. Your job is constant uptime on slows and roots, not one-shots.
-
Teamfights
Position in the backline. E to lock down carries and frontline. Q spam between cooldowns. R when enemies group or to peel divers off your team. W for team sustain and movement speed.
Key: Your goal is constant CC uptime. A well-timed E root into R can win a fight before it starts. Do not hold your ultimate waiting for the perfect 5-man. -
Late Game Scaling
With full haste from items and boots, you chain abilities nonstop. Archangel's shield keeps you alive through dives. Cosmic Drive gives you the movement speed to reposition between casts. Cryptbloom provides magic penetration and team healing on takedowns.
Key Decision Points
- Against dive or tanky comps: Rush Rylai's earlier after Mandate for kiting and lockdown. Build more health-oriented items like Cosmic Drive.
- Against squishy poke lanes: Lean into more AP with an earlier Rabadon's, but keep Mandate and Rylai's as your core for setup.
- Support synergy: Pair with CC-heavy or engage supports like Leona, Nautilus, Thresh, or Nami. Their CC lets you E off them for bigger chains and Mandate procs. Avoid pure poke lanes if possible.
- Summoner spell choice: Teleport for map impact and bot pressure. Flash + Ignite or Barrier as fallback options depending on matchup.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Maxing W or going full enchanter with Moonstone or Helia. This loses CC pressure and the carry threat that APC players want.
- Building Rylai's too late or skipping it entirely. Rylai's is what enables the permanent lockdown fantasy.
- Overextending early without Archangel's mana. You will run out of mana and lose trades.
- Ignoring support synergy. Seraphine shines with allies nearby for passive notes and setup.
- Forgetting Teleport roams. You miss bot lane map pressure potential by staying in lane too long.
