Why default Graves builds underperform
Choose your path
Bruiser vs Lethality decision
Fleet + Umbral into Sundered Sky
Use when the enemy has multiple close-range fighters, tanks, or bruisers. Extended fights let you stack E grit and proc Sundered Sky constantly. You become a durable carry that outlasts melee comps.
2. Sundered Sky
3. Black Cleaver
4+ Jak'Sho / BT / Death's Dance / Maw
Hubris into Collector
Use when the enemy is mostly squishy and mobile. Pure burst and snowball. Still viable but stats show it underperforms vs bruiser in most games. Best when you are already ahead early.
2. Collector
3. LDR / Mortal Reminder
4+ Shieldbow / GA / BT

Key decisions
Quick reference decision flow
Close-range / bruiser-heavy enemy?
Fleet + Umbral into Sundered Sky into Cleaver/Jak'Sho. This is the preferred path in most discussions right now.
Squishy / snowball game?
Fleet or Dark Harvest + Hubris into Collector. Pure burst for snowballing when you are already ahead and the enemy is squishy.
Unsure which path?
Start Umbral or Hubris first item, then decide at second item based on how the game is going. No need to commit before the game develops.
Heavy poke / ranged / true damage enemy?
Avoid full bruiser. You cannot stack E and fight up close against poke comps. Go lethality and look for burst picks instead of extended fights.
