Lethality Nocturne Jungle Build - LoL Patch 26.13
Nocturne is S+ tier in patch 26.13. The lethality variant trades bruiser durability for one-shot potential on isolated carries - Profane Hydra first, Axiom Arc second, chain Paranoia all game.
When to Pick This Build
The lethality build maximizes Nocturne's assassination window. Pick it when the enemy team has 2 or fewer tanks and you can snowball early picks into chaos. If the enemy has heavy CC or a full frontline, the standard bruiser path (Stridebreaker / Hexplate into Black Cleaver) is safer and more consistent.
Deny vision, find an isolated carry, ult in, Q + autos + Hydra active, delete. Use Axiom Arc ult refunds to chain Paranoia and keep the enemy team permanently disoriented. This is pick-and-chaos style - do not teamfight 5v5 unless you are massively ahead.
Item Build Order
-
Profane Hydra - Rush This
Dramatically improves jungle clear speed via AoE passive, adds heavy burst on your all-in, and synergizes well with Nocturne's passive. Players in current discussions consistently call this the lethality build's core first item. Do not delay it for anything.
-
Boots - Situational
Pick up Ionian Boots for CDR to accelerate ult cycling. Take Mercury's Treads against heavy CC threats. Get boots at a natural back whenever it fits your gold timing - do not delay Axiom Arc significantly for them.
-
Axiom Arc - Ult Refund Engine
The defining item for lethality Nocturne. Every takedown after a Paranoia gives you ult cooldown back, letting you chain Paranoia aggressively across the map. This is why the lethality build snowballs harder than bruiser when it works - you can Paranoia every 30-40 seconds in a won game rather than the base 90+ second cooldown.
-
Collector - Execute + Lethality Stack
The execute passive procs often post-Hydra burst. Adds another lethality stack to delete squishies below 5% health after your combo. Situationally swap for Edge of Night if the enemy has one targeted CC skill that is ruining your dives.
-
Lord Dominik's Regards - Armor Penetration
If the enemy has started building armor (which they will once you are snowballing), LDR ensures your lethality still punches through. Skip if the enemy has no armor-stackers and take a 5th lethality item instead.
-
Guardian Angel - Safety Net
The only defensive item in this build. The passive gives you one free engage risk per fight. Do not take GA before completing your damage core - it does nothing if you cannot delete the target before dying.
Flex SlotsSwap GA for Death's Dance or Maw of Malmortius against burst mages. Stay off-meta tanks and full HP items - they kill the build's entire purpose.
Runes
Skill order: Max Q first for damage and clear speed. Max E second for chase. Max W last. Take R whenever available.
Key Decision Points
-
Lethality vs. Bruiser Nocturne
Choose lethality when the enemy has 2 or fewer tanks and your team has engage. Choose bruiser (Stridebreaker first, Black Cleaver second) when the enemy has heavy CC, 3+ frontliners, or you need to be the engage threat. You can also mix - Axiom Arc as a 3rd item into bruiser core works as a hybrid.
-
When to use Paranoia
Use ult to pick isolated carries or to punish mispositioned damage dealers in the backline. Do not use it to blindly dive into the enemy team's frontline when ahead. Force 2v1 or 3v2 situations with the darkness, then follow up on your team's engage.
-
Collector vs. Edge of Night in slot 3
Default to Collector for the execute and lethality. Swap to Edge of Night if one enemy skillshot or targeted CC is the only thing stopping your all-ins. The spell shield from Edge of Night often makes the difference against a single high-value CC ability.
Lethality vs. Bruiser: Quick Reference
| Scenario | Build |
|---|---|
| Enemy team 2 or fewer tanks, snowball game | Lethality |
| Enemy has heavy CC (stuns, roots, suppresses) | Bruiser Instead |
| Enemy 3+ frontliners / bruisers | Bruiser Instead |
| Your team needs an engage threat | Bruiser Instead |
| You are ahead early and want to end fast | Lethality |
| Mixed threats, uncertain game state | Hybrid (Axiom 3rd into Bruiser) |
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Running full lethality into tanky or CC-heavy teams - you get blown up before you can delete anyone. The enemy catches you in CC and your paper defenses mean instant death.
- Playing too passively - lethality Nocturne must snowball aggressively. The power curve falls off in long, passive games against scaling comps. Force picks and close the game out.
- Ignoring vision control - your Paranoia setup requires knowing where isolated enemies are. Sweeper and deep wards are not optional. Without vision you are just guessing when to ult.
- Using ult into a full 5-man - this build cannot 1v5. Paranoia into 5 grouped enemies wastes your cooldown and often means your death. Wait for isolation or use ult to deny enemy vision for your team's engage.
- Delaying Profane Hydra - some players try to build Axiom first for early ult pressure. Hydra is the clear engine and burst multiplier. Always Hydra first.
