Elden Ring Nightreign Revenant Solo Play Tips
Revenant solo play tips for Elden Ring Nightreign - Day 1 mine rush for Cursed Claws plus 2, summon cycling with Frederick and Sebastian, stay at range, Starlight Shards for FP, Wending Grace safety, and the mistakes that kill solo runs.
Core problem: Revenant is one of the squishiest Nightfarers. Solo players die when they take aggro, run out of FP, or waste Day 1 on camps they can't clear. The goal is to keep summons tanking, stay at range, upgrade early, and reach the Nightlord with shards and a usable seal or claws.
1Day 1 Routing: Rush the Mine First
- 1Rush the nearest mine, not a camp.
Spawn, path to the closest mine, and exit toward the nearest merchant. Upgrade your starting Cursed Claws to plus 2 as soon as you have a Smithing Stone 2. Players who skip this stay stuck on weak early damage.
- 2Use Frederick (hammer) in the mine.
He staggers mine bosses and lets you finish them without eating hits. Helen is for trash. Sebastian is for later tanking.
- 3After the upgrade, clear nearby camps, churches, or evergaols.
Skip hard camps (Redmane Knights, Banished Knights) unless you already have a good seal or stagger loop. Churches and Rises are higher priority than random field bosses.
- 4Hit every Rise and merchant for Starlight Shards.
Buy the two cheap shards (1,000 each) and the extra pouch. Solo Revenant lives or dies on FP. Two to four shards for the Nightlord is the usual target.
2How to Fight: The Summon Tank Loop
For stagger loops: evergaols, single tanky enemies.
For bosses and aggro: roar plus bulk holds threat.
Only for trash or when you need mobility.
- 1Keep a summon out at all times. Cycle them: they heal while dismissed.
Don't let one die if you can swap first. Resummon cooldown is long. Heal Sebastian or Frederick with flasks if you have a relic that makes flasks heal summons.
- 2Stay at range. Summon first, then cast or use Wraith Calling Bell or claws jumping heavies.
Melee on Revenant is a last resort. Her HP does not forgive it.
- 3Don't charge most spells. Uncharged casts are higher DPS.
Exceptions: Lightning Spear, Honed Bolt (charge if you have a safe window), and some frenzy spells.
- 4Never drop the Cursed Claws. Upgrade them (blue or purple).
Running and jumping R2s stagger well and revive allies fast if you ever play with people. Hoarfrost Stomp on them is frequently recommended.
3Relic and Item Decisions
- 1Extra HP plus flasks heal summons (Night of the Fathom or Augur-style).
Extra HP is night and day on this character.
- 2Wraith Calling Bell start or pickup (graveyard tombstones).
Early-game ranged damage while Fred or Sebastian tanks.
- 3Night of the Wise if you're stuck on the starting weapon or no seal luck.
- 4FP relics (max FP with staves, or pocketwatch plus Gnoster-style) if you keep running dry.
Buy Wending Grace when you see it. It auto-procs on death and is treated as a second life. Pair with shards in consumable slots.
Black Flame, Bestial Sling, Lightning Spear, Honed Bolt. Match the Nightlord weakness (fire vs lightning is easy to find, holy is luck). Dual purple seals plus 2 to 4 shards is the ready for Nightlord bar.
Key Choices
Common Mistakes
- Taking aggro because both summons died or you never summoned.
- Charging every incantation and getting punished.
- Dropping the claws for a random faith weapon that isn't clearly better.
- Ignoring churches or Rises and arriving at the Nightlord with no shards.
- Fighting tanky or multi-enemy bosses Day 1 instead of farming small packs after the plus 2 upgrade.
- Using ult as first damage instead of saving it for a wipe or last-second save.
In solo it's your panic button.
