Elden Ring Nightreign — Patch 1.03.1 & Deep of Night
FromSoftware's standalone co-op spin-off: teams of three drop into a shrinking Limveld, survive two days of looting, and fight a Nightlord at the end of night three. The 1.03.1 update folded The Forsaken Hollows DLC into the high-difficulty Deep of Night mode.
What 1.03.1 changed
- 1Forsaken Hollows invades Deep of Night
DLC owners now encounter new targets, Landmarks, raid events and Shifting Earth in Deep of Night — these only appear when matched with other DLC owners.
- 2New target added in the hotfix
The enhanced Balancers, Salvation's Standard-Bearers, can appear as a Deep of Night boss for DLC owners — again only in DLC-owner matches.
- 3More relics for DLC targets
Win or lose, Deep of Night runs now pay out more Relics when the target is from The Forsaken Hollows.
- 4Great Hollow temple tuning
Fire/Magic/Lightning/Holy curse effects on temple items were increased, and the Continuous HP Loss/Recovery curses were adjusted.
- 5Balance and fixes
Tricephalos raid-event wolves got an attack-power cut; Scholar's Communion no longer breaks under Executor's Beast transformation; pinning shows rarity color; identical consumables now stack-combine.
How a run works
- ●Pick a Nightfarer
Eight preset characters with fixed skills and ultimates — no character creation. Team comps matter: a frontline tank, a reviver and a ranged carry is the classic shell.
- ●Two days to gear up
Each 15-minute day, the Night's Tide circle shrinks around Limveld — fight minibosses, loot weapons and passives, level up fast. Day ends with a boss.
- ●Nightlord on night three
Survive to face the run's final boss — win or wipe, you bank Relics that permanently shape your builds next run.
- ●Deep of Night = ranked mode
The high-difficulty expedition ladder — where the Forsaken Hollows targets now live if your squad owns the DLC.
FAQ
Is Nightreign a sequel to Elden Ring?
No — it's a standalone co-op spin-off in a parallel version of Limgrave (Limveld). Three-day runs, roguelike relic progression, no open world to roam at leisure.
Can I play solo?
Yes — runs scale to solo play, though the game is tuned around trios. Matchmaking fills a team if you queue alone.
Do I need the DLC for Deep of Night?
Deep of Night is in the base game — The Forsaken Hollows only adds its targets, landmarks and raid events to that mode when matched with fellow owners.
What's the current version?
