SW Zero Company: Skip Coil Sabotage, Enemy Gets Both Mods
What happens when you skip a Coil Crisis sabotage op and the enemy gets both upgrades. Which mod to deny, kill order planning, and when skipping is actually fine.

Crisis Decision
Core problem: Coil Crisis sabotage ops force a choice: deny one enemy upgrade this cycle, or skip the op entirely so Coil gets both mods. Players skip when companion missions expire the same cycle and they do not want to lose story/bonds, but then later fights get much harder.
How the System Works
Each campaign cycle the Coil prepares two upgrades for a unit type (Strikers, Enforcers, etc.). A Crisis operation lets you pick one to destroy. The other is applied. If you ignore the Crisis op, both get applied. These are not always the same pair every playthrough.
1Decision Process When the Crisis Pops
- 1Look at the galaxy map / holotable before you commit the cycle's tactical mission slot. Note which companion operations expire this cycle.
- 2Check your current squad power. Strong bonds plus cross-training? Do you already have Execution, Salvo, good grenades/rockets, or high single-target damage? If yes, many players successfully skip the sabotage and still control the upgraded units.
- 3If you do the sabotage, pick the upgrade that scares you most for your current team and difficulty. See the priority list below.
- 4After you skip or complete it, immediately plan kill order for the next Coil fight.
2Which Mod to Deny (Priority Order)
- DENYExtra Resonance / Surge stacking. Widely considered the worst late-game snowball. Early extra Resonance ruins later missions.
- DENYExtra movement on melee/Strikers (Fleet Footed type). Unlimited retaliation plus sprint equals squad wipe.
- ACCEPTRaw HP increases. Just makes one-shots fail. Easier to play around than Resonance or movement.
Community consensus: Deny Resonance or movement first. Accept extra HP if you have to.
3Kill Order Planning After Skipping
- 1Soften groups with grenades/rockets before they surge. Pre-damage denies the Resonance stack value.
- 2Kill two 2-Resonance units on the same turn so the extra stack is wasted.
- 3Knock enemies off ledges. Resonance often does not transfer to environmental kills.
- 4Focus-fire or execute enemies with 3 Resonance stacks immediately. Do not let them live.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Doing the first Crisis without knowing what Resonance does. Early extra Resonance ruins later missions.
- Treating the Crisis as mandatory. It is not. Companion missions can be more valuable if your damage is already high.
- Letting the last enemy live with 3 Resonance stacks. Focus-fire or execute them immediately.
- Skipping repeatedly on higher difficulties. One skip is recoverable; repeated skips snowball badly.
