Halloween: The Game
Does Private Match Give XP in Halloween: The Game?
Yes. Private matches against AI or friends give full XP, challenges, and trophies. Same four progression tracks as public games, same XP rates, no penalty for staying in private lobbies.
Full XP in private
4 progression tracks
Trophies unlock too
Short answer: Private matches give full XP, challenges, and trophies/achievements. You earn XP in private matches against AI/bots or with friends, the same four progression tracks as public games, and you can complete challenges and unlock trophies there. Same XP rates and rewards with no penalty for staying in private lobbies.
Progression Tracks
Four Tracks That All Level Up
Profile
Overall account level. Everything counts.
Killer
Levels up when you play as Michael.
Civilian
Per-character levels. Play each civilian.
Weapon
Kills with specific weapons as Michael.
How to Grind
Step-by-Step
1
From the multiplayer tab, host a private match. Invite friends or fill remaining slots with AI.
2
Choose roles yourself or randomize. You can play as Michael vs civilian bots, or as a civilian.
3
Play the match to completion. XP applies to Profile, Killer, Civilian, and Weapon tracks.
4
Stay until the match ends. Leaving after you die or escape can cost you the XP for that match. Wait for the post-game screen.
5
Repeat. Use private vs AI to grind Killer and Weapon levels or specific civilian challenges without queue times. Perk points from matches also drop here so you can roll cards.
Decision Points
Key Choices
Solo Practice or Public Play
Private vs AI is the reliable grind and practice option. Public gives the same XP but adds human unpredictability and Killer Tokens from completed civilian matches.
Michael vs Civilian
Queue as Michael in private to farm Killer and Weapon levels and executions. Play civilians to farm per-character Civilian levels and starting items.
Friends vs Bots
Both give XP. Bots let you control the pace and farm specific actions: stalks, hides, police calls, executions.
Story Mode vs Private
Story has its own chapter challenges. Private matches are the repeatable 1v4-style grind. They are not the same mode.
Common Mistakes
What Costs You XP
x
Leaving early after death or escape. You can lose the match XP. Wait for the post-game screen.
x
Assuming private is "practice only" and skipping it. It counts for prestige tracks, cosmetics, abilities, and trophies.
x
Treating story mode and private bot matches as the same. Story has its own chapter challenges; private matches are the repeatable grind.
