Halloween: The Game - Michael Myers Shape Jump Loadout
Shape Jump is fixed on every Myers kit. The loadout fight is the three extra ability slots, because they exist to break Shape Jump's two hard rules: darkness only, and no civilian line of sight.
Core problem: make Shape Jump actually usable - move unseen, appear on a target, and not get stuck glowing in a lit street or locked out of the ability when a group swarms you. The three ability slots exist to break the jump's two rules: you can only enter/exit in darkness, and never while a civilian has line of sight or stands too close.
1The Loadout Most Players Run
Always on (not slots): Killer Sense + Shape Jump. The default trio that covers information, manufactured darkness, and a panic button:
2How Players Actually Use This Kit
- 1First 60-90 seconds: do not chase players.
Spawn, Killer Sense, look for blue circles (moving = walking civilian/NPC; still = TV/radio). Hit the first house, smash the power box, then the phone line. Stalk and grab NPCs - priority targets throw a yellow/orange beam into the sky. Bloodthirst from NPCs is the win condition; players come later.
- 2Create a legal jump window.
Enter/exit Shape Jump: Q (keyboard) / A (Xbox) / X (PlayStation). Shape Dash while jumped: Space / RB / R1. You only enter or leave in dark + no line of sight. Walk into light while jumped and you glow and slow. Cut power boxes first, hug outdoor shadow, then jump. Dash only to close the last gap or cross a lit strip.
- 3Pair abilities with the jump.
Detection Pulse first, then jump while info is live. Blackout a house to kill lights before jumping it - or to stall a running sedan and drain flashlights. Reality Tear only for real players, a watched escape, or a priority target inside a group. If Shape Jump bugs onto infinite cooldown, Tear is the only way out.
- 4Stalk before you commit.
Higher stalk lets you exit Shape Jump closer, grab longer, hit harder. Wounded + terrified + Stalk 3 + Bloodthirst 3 is the finisher window. Do not raw-swing NPCs if a grab will lock the kill.
- 5When a player squad swarms you.
Do not stand and trade unless you built Tank Myers (Evil Presence). Hop in a car - you can Shape Jump out of the car. Tear if you are already downed and stared at, then go farm NPCs while they bully the empty lawn.
Slot 3 Decision Points
| Situation | Take This | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Learning maps / losing people in houses | Detection Pulse | Info beats an extra fight tool |
| Groups keep stacking melee | Evil Presence (Lv40) | Buffs you, debuffs them in the brawl |
| Know the houses, want traps | Shape Mines (Lv60) | Escapes, house doors, Loomis-call paths |
| Lights and cars are the whole match | Blackout | Manufactures the darkness Shape Jump needs |
| Only starter abilities | Tear + Blackout + Pulse | The only trio that covers jump rules from minute one |
Common Mistakes
- Trying to Shape Jump on a lit porch or while a civilian is looking at you. You get the fail state instead of the shadow form.
- Using Reality Tear on the first NPC, then having nothing when four players pile on.
- Chasing player civilians at spawn instead of power boxes and priority NPC beams.
- Dashing under streetlights on purpose. Lights flicker, you glow, you show on the mini-map.
- Standing in a brawl as stealth Myers instead of car-jumping out.
- Ignoring the power box on a house you are about to enter - then you cannot jump the window and walk in like a target.
- Assuming Blackout is "just lights." It also handles doors, cars, bikes, flashlights, and gates.
