Zenless Zone Zero Drive Disc Farming Route

Efficiently farm usable S-rank Drive Discs without wasting Battery Charge. Covers the best Routine Cleanup stages to run, the Bardic Needle recycling loop, the correct upgrade priority order, and roll targets so you can stop a build at "good enough" and move on.

Goal: Usable S-Rank Discs, Not Perfect Loop: Routine Cleanup → Disassemble → Bardic Needle Roll Target: ~20-25 Useful Rolls Priority: Levels > W-Engine > Skills > Discs

What Players Are Trying to Solve

Disc farming is widely called the most boring and grindy part of ZZZ. The core problem: players waste Battery on low-value stages or farm Discs before their Agents are properly leveled, then get stuck with trash rolls. The fix is selective - run only stages where both Disc sets are useful, recycle everything else into Bardic Needle materials, and only craft S-rank Discs. The goal is maximizing good sets and substats, not chasing perfect 5-roll Discs on every slot.

Best Routine Cleanup Stages (The Farming Route)

Players strongly prefer stages where both Disc sets are useful. Avoid stages that pair a good set with a near-useless one (e.g., Woodpecker + Soul Rock) - half your drops become low-value. Run the highest difficulty you can clear quickly.

Fist and GunTop Pick

Hormone Punk + Fanged Metal

Safe and high-value for many Attack and Physical Anomaly agents. Hormone 2P is a solid ATK stick; Fanged is BiS for several agents. Run this if you are unsure where to start.

Monster DuetTop Pick

Branch & Blade Song + Astral Voice

Excellent 2P Crit DMG from Branch & Blade Song plus strong Support options from Astral Voice. Both sets see real use across rosters.

Gunslinger vs GuardianConditional

Shadow Harmony + Phaethon's Melody

Run this if you have Aftershock or Anomaly agents that want these sets. Otherwise prefer the top picks.

Words and WeaponsConditional

Yunkui Tales + King of the Summit

Strong for Rupture agents and Stunners. Run it when your active roster leans Rupture.

Avoid These

Woodpecker + Soul Rock (Soul Rock is near-useless), and any stage pairing a desirable set with a niche or bad partner. If you only need one set from a bad pairing, craft it at Bardic Needle instead of farming the stage.

Step-by-Step Farming and Recycling Loop

  1. Max Static Upgrades First

Fully level Agents, W-Engines, Core Skills, and key combat skills before heavy Disc farming. Guaranteed power from levels and skills beats RNG Disc rolls. Only farm Discs early for weeklies or Battle Pass.

Priority order (community consensus): Levels > W-Engine > Core Skills > Priority Skills > Skills > Drive Discs.

Raise Inter-Knot level so higher Routine Cleanup difficulties drop more and better (2-3 gold) Discs.

  2. Spend Battery on the Best Stages

Run the top-pick stages above (Fist and Gun, Monster Duet) on the highest difficulty you can clear quickly. Spend Battery here only after static upgrades are done. Conditional stages apply when your roster fits their sets.

  3. Sort Drops: Keep vs Scrap

Keep any promising S-rank Disc: correct set + usable main stat (especially good Slot 4/5/6) + at least some desired subs. Scrap everything else - all A-rank and below, plus bad S-ranks (flat DEF/HP spam or wrong set) - for Bardic Needle materials.

  4. Craft Only S-Rank at Bardic Needle

Use Bardic Needle (Music Shop / Elfy) to craft only S-rank (Hi-Fi Master Copy) Discs. A-rank and below are almost never worth it - lower max level and weaker main-stat scaling. Even a mediocre gold is usually better than a purple.

    Targeted Crafting

Target specific slots, sets, and main stats when needed - especially Slot 5, which has the most main-stat variety. Use Tuning Calibrators primarily on Slot 5; save Resonating Cores + Calibrator combos for a desired main + 1 key sub. Do not dump both Cores on one Disc or on Slots 1-3.

  5. Level Promising Discs and Count Rolls

Level promising Discs and count useful substat upgrades (rolls). Community target: aim for ~20 total useful rolls across a build first (good enough), then push toward 25 for stronger endgame. Max per Disc is 5; perfect 5 on all 6 is unrealistic. Stop when you hit the target and move to the next agent.

    Account Stage Matters

Early account: lean more on Bardic Needle, save Battery for levels / skills / Dennies. Mature account: heavy Routine Cleanup for volume plus materials, Bardic for gaps and targeted rolls.

Key Decision Points

Which Stage Today?

Check which agents you are building. Prefer dual-useful stages. If you only need one set from a bad pairing, craft it at Bardic instead of farming the stage.

Keep or Scrap a Disc?

Correct set + usable main (especially good Slot 4/5/6) + at least some desired subs → keep and level. Flat DEF/HP spam or wrong set → scrap for materials.

Craft vs Farm?

Farm dual-good stages for volume. Craft when you need a specific set or slot that is poorly paired, or after you have materials stockpiled.

When to Stop Farming a Character?

When you hit ~20-25 useful rolls plus decent main stats and the character clears content. Move to the next agent. Chasing perfect rolls wastes Battery.
