Early Acts (1–3)

  • Prioritize your main clear skill — Twister/Whirling Slash, Ice Shot, or Glacial Cascade
  • Use vendor recipes and quest rewards for free skill gems
  • Stack life, evasion, and resistances on gear — ignore damage affixes
  • Dodge roll is your best defensive tool early — use it constantly
  • Maintain freeze or chill on enemies for safety against dangerous packs

Mid to Late Campaign

  • Complete ascendancy trials as soon as available — the power spike is significant
  • Twister builds: swap to a damage spear for bosses, speed spear for clear
  • Farm essences in spare time; skip optional content and move fast
  • Respec into your endgame passive path around level 40–50
  • Resistance cap (75% each) is more important than any offensive stat

Twister Combo

Whirling Slash creates projectile paths — Twisters spawn and bounce along these paths. Scale with projectile speed, count, AoE, and ground effects. Position for maximum overlaps on bosses.

0.5 Defenses

Hybrid armor/evasion/deflection outperforms pure ES after the recharge nerfs. Ward, deflection nodes, and freeze all contribute to survivability. Resistance cap is non-negotiable.

Spirit Walker Companions

Tame beasts in the wild to gain companion buffs. Owl focus boosts Twister projectile count via Soaring Ground. Stag provides defensive auras. Companion slots unlock with ascendancy nodes.
