PoE2 0.5 Abyss Strongbox Currency Farm Guide

1 Unlock and Spec Key Atlas Nodes

Do this first - players emphasize completing Abyss tree before starting the farm.

• Abyss: Prioritize Ulaman (currency chests/coffers from pits) and Proliferation (scatters pits for more encounters). Add omen/jewel nodes as available.
• Strongboxes: Take as many general nodes as possible + Researcher's focus.
• Rogue Exiles: Add for extra monsters/rewards - synergizes with Abyss pits.
• Water biome / currency: Grab Grand Waterways + Water Mastery: Currency (15% more from chests - applies to Abyss coffers).
• Other synergies: Shrine/Spirit nodes for buffs and possessions, monster rarity/effectiveness.

2 Tablet Setup

Core juicing - cheap to start, scales well with investment.

  "Abyss pits in Maps are twice as likely to have rewards" (Abounding Abyss Tablet of Treasures or similar). This single mod massively boosts chest frequency and value - don't skip it.

  Additional Abysses or chance for four extra (e.g. Challenger's Abyss Tablet of Schisms). More pits = more currency chests.

  Another Abyss mod or +1 Rogue Exile (Overseer). Look for bonus "increased item rarity" on tablets wherever possible.

3 Map Selection and Prep

• Run T15 maps - 6-mod preferred with rarity; 5-mod safer for weaker builds.
• Use Alchemy + Exalt for mods. Prioritize maps with open layouts for efficient pit clearing.
• Use Jado master for Partial Translations (double tablet effects) and Unforeseen Threats (reveals).
• Rarity on map mods helps chest and box drops - prioritize it where possible.

4 In-Map Loop

  Abyss pits (highest priority)

  Clear every pit thoroughly. Kill monsters - especially Rogue Exiles consumed by Abyss for jewels/granulated currency. Pull void/cloud mobs for better drops (Amanamu for omens). Open all Abyss chests and coffers.

  Researcher's Strongboxes (second priority)

  Juice fully with Exalts - they drop granulated currency and Divines often. Possessed ones via Spirits are high priority. Skip low-value boxes to save time.

  Shrines, Spirits, Expedition

  Do Shrines for boss buffs/loot bonuses. Handle Spirits and basic Expedition if present - don't skip free value.

  Map boss + Atlas exploration

  Kill map boss. Explore for Citadels, Halls, and Jade Islands while progressing Atlas - these add substantial bonuses over time.

5 Sell and Reinvest

• Sell fast: Raw currency, omens (Light of Meaning / Echoes of Creation sell quickly), Heart of the Well jewels (especially multi-mod ones).
• Sell tablets you don't need - there's consistent demand.
• Reinvest into better tablets and completing remaining Atlas nodes.
• Players report steady 2+ Div/map with proper setup, scaling higher with better tablets and rarity.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

• ! Skipping full Abyss tree or wrong faction - without Ulaman and the full tree, currency chests won't spawn consistently. Don't start farming before this is done.
• ! Ignoring Researcher's Strongboxes - not juicing them with Exalts means missing consistent Div and granulated currency drops. They're the second pillar of this farm.
• ! Over-investing early in expensive tablets - complete the Atlas nodes first, then scale up tablet quality. Don't burn currency on premium tablets before Atlas is ready.
• ! Poor pit clearing or killing mobs too fast - missing clouds/jewel drops from rushing. Take time to clear pits properly, especially for jewel nodes.
• ! Not exploring Atlas side content - Citadels, Halls, and Jade Islands add big long-term bonuses. Don't skip them while mapping.
