Core Goal
New players need a base that quickly generates wood, stone, ore/ingots, berries, and paldium - while staying defensible from raids. The most common failure points are poor ore access (slowing ingot production), raids overwhelming open bases, and Pal sanity issues from missing Hot Springs or Feed Boxes.

Step 1 - Choose Your Base Location

Plateau of Beginnings (Waterfall Area) Top Pick
Coords: ~221, -497 or 233, -488

Plenty of trees and stone nodes, nearby paldium, one ore node, berry bushes for passive food. Natural choke points limit raid angles. Close to spawn - ideal for fast early progression without long travel. Best choice if you want zero hassle.

Across Bridge near Chillet Boss Ore Focus
Coords: ~156, -394 or ~4, -525

Multiple natural ore nodes inside base radius for early mining. Enemies often get stuck below cliffs, making raids easier to handle. Great for Tombat mining Pal assignment. Players report faster ingot production from this spot - choose it if metal is your bottleneck.

Location Rule
Place your Palbox centrally to cover as many natural resource nodes as possible inside the blue radius. Ore, stone, trees, and berries all within reach means Pals work without leaving base.

Step 2 - Build Order

  1. 1
Foundations and defensive walls first - Lay wooden foundations in a compact rectangle or L-shape (roughly 10-14 x 4 tiles). Add walls and gates on open sides, especially at bridges and raid approach angles. This creates choke points and prevents Pals from being scattered during raids before your defenses are ready.
  2. 2
Place Palbox and basic structures - Confirm Palbox placement covers resource nodes. Then build: Primitive Workbench, Straw Pal Beds (one per Pal minimum), Feed Box for auto-feeding, Repair Bench, Berry Plantation, and a Ranch with early Pals like Lamball or Chikipi for wool, eggs, and Pal Spheres.
  3. 3
Production core - Build Stone Pit, Logging Site, Furnace near your ore nodes, Hot Springs (1-2 early - restores Pal sanity and is critical for productivity), and Workbenches for nails, cloth, and armor crafting.
  4. 4
Storage and player rest area - Line chests along walls for organized storage. Build a simple wooden hut with a bed and roof for your character. Add High Quality Hot Springs later when resources allow.
  5. 5
Expand vertically and leave pathing space - Use stairs for multi-level layouts (storage bottom, production middle, beds top). Leave at least 1 foundation gap around every workstation so Pals can path to them without getting stuck. Upgrade wood to stone as you level up.

Early Pal Assignments

Multi-Base Tip
Unlock your second base around level 10. Use the first base for resources and the second for breeding and advanced production. This separates loud/busy production from breeding Pals who need quieter environments.
