Genshin Impact Artifact Farming Route
Daily artifact investigation farming route for Genshin Impact. Learn the 100-spot cap strategy, best mobility characters, route selection, and post-run processing for maximum artifact XP and Mora without spending resin.
How Artifact Investigation Farming Works
Artifact investigation spots are sparkling interactable points scattered across Teyvat that give you 1-star to 3-star artifacts, and sometimes Mora. There is a hard daily cap of approximately 100 investigations. After hitting 100, new spots stop spawning when you enter a new area. You can exceed the cap by reaching exactly 99 investigations, then loading a dense cluster of spots so they all spawn and stay available while you stay in the zone.
Most artifact spots respawn on a strict 24-hour timer from the moment you collect them (not server reset), so players run two alternating routes. Non-artifact investigations (food, ores, pure Mora) waste the cap. Some special spots (Apam Woods bubbles when raining, Natlan pheasant/flower birds, certain activated ones) can still appear after the limit.
The 99-cap overflow trick: collect exactly 99 spots, then enter a dense zone (Khemenu Temple, Easybreeze Market, Tatarasuna). The remaining spots all spawn at once and stay available as long as you don't leave the zone. This lets you exceed the 100 cap significantly.
Farming Steps
-
Pick a Current Community Route and Learn It
Graph's speed-focused or all-Mora routes are the most frequently recommended and updated across community discussions. They cover modern map areas including Easybreeze Resort/Market, Fontaine, Inazuma Tatarasuna/Seirai, Sumeru desert/Khemenu/Sekhem, Natlan spots, and newer Nod-Krai additions. Prefer short Easybreeze-heavy runs (10-15 min) for low burnout. Alternate two full routes so you never wait the full 24h on the same spots.
-
Set Up Your Team and Movement
Best mobility: Chasca (called the "Natlan cheat code") or Ifa for flight and coverage. Asha transformation for Easybreeze Resort high places reduces teleports and characters needed. Alternatives work but are slower. Bring a character that can clear light enemies quickly if the route has camps. If you have Chasca/Asha/Ifa, run speed routes with Natlan/Easybreeze. If not, stick to denser older clusters (Khemenu Temple, Tatarasuna, Eremite camps, Liyue) and accept a bit more time.
-
Execute the Run in Order
Teleport and clear the faster, sparser spots first until you hit exactly 99 investigations (track mentally or with a counter). Only then enter the densest remaining zone (Khemenu Temple, Sekhem Hall, Easybreeze Market clusters, or Tatarasuna). Stay inside the zone so the extra 20-40+ spots remain. Collect every artifact sparkle. Skip or carefully avoid adjacent weapon/Mora-only or wrong investigates. Optional short extensions (activated tanuki/cannon/bird spots, Apam bubbles in rain, Natlan pheasants, Fontaine canisters, Nightspirit sigils) after the main 100 for a few extra. Time the start of your route so the 24h timer lines up with when you next play.
-
Post-Run Processing
Salvage or convert low-star artifacts into EXP materials (Sanctifying Essence/elixirs) or destroy them for Mora (1 artifact XP is approximately 1 Mora). Bank excess in the inventory or strongbox system. Do this daily or every other day. Many players report burnout if they force long extensions every single day, so start short and only add what feels sustainable.
Key Decision Points
-
Speed vs Max Resources Speed routes (Easybreeze-focused) for time efficiency. All-Mora variants or extensions if you need both XP and Mora. Pick based on your current resource bottleneck.
-
One Long Route vs Two Short Alternating Two routes prevent downtime from the 24h timer. If you run the same route daily, spots won't have respawned. Alternate between two different routes for consistent daily farming.
-
With vs Without Mobility Characters Chasca and Asha dramatically shorten Natlan/Easybreeze sections. Without them, drop those segments or use substitutes (Sekhem, Sal Terrae, etc.). The route changes based on who you own.
-
Stop at ~100 or Push Extensions Most players stop at the main efficient 100 to avoid burnout. Add extras only when desperate for resources. Extensions take about 1 minute each and are isolated, so add them selectively.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Investigating non-artifact spots (food, ore, pure Mora). These waste your 100-spot daily cap.
- Entering a dense zone too early. You lose the overflow bonus from the 99-cap trick.
- Leaving a dense zone before finishing. Spots despawn when you exit the area.
- Trying to memorize every single sparkle without a video or interactive map the first few times.
- Running the absolute longest possible route every day. This leads to guaranteed burnout.
- Ignoring the exact 24h timer and wondering why spots are missing on your next run.
- Flying carelessly into mixed weapon/artifact huts and clicking the wrong sparkle.
