Genshin Impact - Imaginarium Theatre

Genshin Impact Imaginarium Theatre Strategy Guide

Act-by-act strategy for clearing Imaginarium Theatre with full stars. Covers roster preparation, Brilliant Blessings priority order, team comps for every act including Lunar Arcana, and the most common mistakes that cost players their stars.

10 acts + 2 Arcana Mid-investment viable 32 characters recommended

What makes Imaginarium Theatre hard

Imaginarium Theatre is a roster and blessing management mode, not a pure DPS check. Success depends on bringing enough characters, picking the right Brilliant Blessings early, and saving your strongest units for the acts that need them. Players who treat it like Spiral Abyss and front-load their best teams will run out of resources by Act 6.

Preparation checklist

1Bring 32 characters, not the minimum 26. Extra characters give free flowers and broad stat buffs (roughly +6400 HP, +400 ATK, +400 DEF, +160 EM across the roster). Level fodder to 70 only; talents and weapons can stay minimal.
2Secure a built Xingqiu. He is the single most valuable unit for IT due to his off-field Hydro application and damage reduction.
3Bring a Cryo unit that hits air targets. Charlotte, Escoffier, Sandrone, or Citlali. Several acts have flying enemies that are impossible to hit with melee-only Cryo.
4Prepare an on-field DPS + support duo that enables Hydro, Electro, or Cryo for blessings. Example: Raiden + Fischl + Mona or Charlotte.
5Borrow Supporting Cast from friends. Priority: Neuvillette > Arlecchino > Sandrone > Varesa. Prefer self-healers because Lunar Arcana has health decay.
6Identify your fodder characters. These are units whose only job is filling the 4-slot team requirement in early acts. You rarely switch to them. Sub in better units when it helps.

Brilliant Blessings order

Blessing order is the single most important decision in IT. Chase them in this exact sequence: Level 2 Electro-Charged first, then Level 2 Freeze, then Level 2 Superconduct, then Level 4 Electro-Charged. Reset early acts for better RNG if the blessing path is clearly bad.

Electro-Charged

Level 2: Left path. Level 4: Left path. Prioritize this first because it carries Acts 1-3.

Chase priority: 1st

Freeze

Level 2: Right path. Level 4: Left for Cryo DPS, Right for Hydro DPS. Needed for Act 5+.

Chase priority: 2nd

Superconduct

Level 2: Right path. Level 4: Left for Electro DPS, Right for Cryo DPS. Needed for Act 7+.

Chase priority: 3rd

Step-by-step act strategy

Act 1 Fodder + Electro-Charged Setup
Goal2 fodder (ideally one Electro) + Level 2 Electro-Charged blessing
EnemyRuin Drake
TeamTrial Yelan + Trial Ororon + 2 fodder. Pick Cryo/Hydro/Electro fodder or Xingqiu if available.
RotationYelan E + Burst, Ororon Burst + E, spam Yelan normals. Keep enough fodder for later acts.
Act 2 Continue Building Roster
GoalBuild roster or grab Level 2 Freeze blessing
EnemyFatui
TeamSame team as Act 1. Use Yelan E to group, prioritize Electro Hammer Fatui.
HuntElectro character, Xingqiu, or Supporting Cast
Act 3 Knuckle Duckle (Boss)
TeamFlins + Aino + Electro character + fodder
RotationApply Electro, Aino E + Burst, Flins E/Burst. After paralysis, repeat rotation twice. Electro-Charged or Lunar-Charged destroys the summons.
AfterSecure at least 4 fodder, then hunt Supporting Cast and Xingqiu
Act 4 Fodder Act + Freeze Hunt
GoalIf you have Supporting Cast + enough characters, consider Arcana early. Hunt Level 2 Freeze + Xingqiu.
EnemyRuin Sentinels
Team4 fodder. Focus the "dorito" one; the melee unit is low threat.
Act 5 Kairagi (Boss)
RequireMust have Level 2 Freeze + Xingqiu
TeamTrial Skirk + Trial Layla + Xingqiu + any Cryo/Hydro
RotationLet teammates deal damage first to trigger Skirk's talent, then Skirk Burst, tap E, normals. Watch the 3 dots on her special energy bar to extend the state with charged attacks or Burst.
AfterHunt Supporting Cast or your main DPS/supports
Act 6 Skirk Continuation
TeamSame team and Skirk rotation as Act 5
PrioritySupporting Cast > your main DPS/supports > air-targeting Cryo > Superconduct blessing
Act 7 Main DPS Check
PriorityLevel 2 Superconduct if your main DPS needs it. Character order: main DPS/supports > strong DPS + air Cryo.
EnemyFontaine Meka
TeamYour prepared on-field DPS team
Act 8 Flying Drones (Boss)
PriorityAir-targeting Cryo > Level 4 Electro-Charged if available > strong DPS
TeamTrial Flins + Trial Aino + air Cryo + any Electro
StrategyDestroy the flying drones first. Charlotte hold-E from outside the circle works well. Flins' second normal reaches them if you stand directly underneath. Once down: Aino Burst, Electro, Cryo, Flins E/Burst.
NoteDisable Special Analysis Zoom Lens if Charlotte keeps taking photos instead of attacking.
Arcana 1 Lunar Arcana - HP Drain
TeamSupporting Cast + whatever supports you have. AoE preferred.
StrategyClear as fast as possible. Arcana 1 has HP drain. Bring team-wide healing. Shields are weak here and can feed enemy shields. They do not stop the drain.
Arcana 2 Lunar Arcana - Final Push
TeamSupporting Cast + remaining strong DPS
StrategyHunt any remaining strong DPS before this act. Clear fast with AoE.
Act 9 Abyss Mage Shield Break
FlowersSpend flowers on remaining needed characters or blessings
EnemyHydro Abyss Mage (if Cryo/Electro DPS) or Electro Abyss Mage (if Hydro/Cryo DPS)
TeamStrong DPS + supports. Wait for mages to teleport to you before breaking shields.
Act 10 Final Boss
FlowersSpend all remaining flowers
TeamYour strongest remaining DPS + supports
StrategyPure DPS check. At roughly 30% HP the boss summons machines. Kill the one with the yellow circle to paralyze it and open a damage window.

How to adapt to your roster

Early acts (1-4)

Spend fodder and trials. Hunt blessings and missing key units. Reset for bad RNG on blessings or characters. Do not waste strong DPS here.

Mid acts (5-7)

Decide whether to push Arcana early once Supporting Cast is secured. Commit Skirk teams for Acts 5-6. Save your best on-field DPS for Act 7+.

Late acts (8-10)

Commit your best remaining teams. Adjust for your actual roster. Community players stress adapting rather than copying exactly.

Supporting Cast vs own units

Borrow high-investment DPS you lack, especially self-sustain ones. If you already have Neuvillette or Arlecchino built, borrow something else.

Mistakes that cost stars

X Using only 26 characters. You miss out on free flowers and stat buffs. The extra 6 characters at level 70 cost almost nothing and provide a significant edge.
X Wasting strong DPS in early acts. Using your best on-field DPS or key supports like Xingqiu in Acts 1-4 leaves you underpowered for the boss acts where they matter most.
X Ignoring blessing priority order. Delaying Level 2 Electro-Charged or Freeze cripples your early and mid-act clears. Follow the chase order exactly.
X Not resetting for bad RNG. If early acts give bad character or blessing options, reset. Pushing through a bad path wastes resources for later acts.
X Bringing shields into Arcana 1. Shields can backfire by feeding enemy shields and do not stop the HP drain. Bring team-wide healers instead.
X Forgetting air-targeting Cryo. Act 8 has flying drones that are nearly impossible without a Cryo unit that can hit air targets. Plan for this before Act 8.
X Not killing the yellow-circle machine in Act 10. At 30% HP the boss summons machines. Only the one with the yellow circle paralyzes the boss when destroyed. Ignoring this extends the fight unnecessarily.
