Core Problem
Exotic armor drops are unreliable from playlists and Xur. Legend Lost Sectors are the repeatable farm - but only if you're running a build strong enough to solo them in under 10 minutes. Most players die too fast or waste time on hard sectors when easier ones give identical rewards.
0 Prerequisites - Do This Before Farming
Power Level

Hit 2000+ before grinding Legend sectors. Lower power makes them brutally unforgiving with no real path to consistent clears.

Rahool Reputation

Level him up by decoding engrams. Unlock focusing options to target specific armor slots instead of full RNG drops.

Exotic Ciphers

Farm via season pass, Xur's weekly quest (21 ritual activities), or rank resets. Hold up to 5. Use for focused targeting at Rahool.

Weekly Ritual Engrams

Do 9 ritual activities (3 each: Vanguard, Crucible, Gambit). Decode with Ghost focusing mods for better stat rolls.

1 Core Farming Loop
1. Check the daily rotation - pick a sector that rewards the exotic slot you need. Use d2lostsector.report or TodayInDestiny for daily slot and sector info.
2. Choose an easy sector - Bunker E15 and K1 Revelation are community favorites for manageable clears. Avoid brutal sectors until you're confident in your build.
3. Run solo on Legend - clear the sector, deposit the engram at Rahool immediately. Repeat 5-10 times per session for decent drop odds.
4. Supplement with Vex Strike Force (Neomuna) when active - free exotic armor for unowned pieces on completion. Low effort, random timing.
5. Xur on weekends - buy missing armor and his engram (buy specific pieces first to avoid duplicates). Complete his cipher quest every week.
6. Focus at Rahool - use daily free focusing for a targeted slot, or cipher + engram for any unlocked exotic you're missing.
2 Best Builds for Farming
Void Warlock - Devour Build Recommended for Beginners
SubclassVoidwalker with Devour active
ExoticThe Stag (or survivability helm)
WeaponsGraviton Lance or Le Monarque (champion stunning)
StatsHigh Discipline + high Resilience
Devour heals you on every kill with void abilities active. Grenades clear dense add rooms in seconds. This setup is the most forgiving for learning sector layouts.
Arc Hunter - Combination Blow Speed Clears
SubclassArcstrider with Combination Blow melee
ExoticAssassin's Cowl (healing on melee kills)
Weapons1-2 Punch shotgun + Tractor Cannon for boss DPS
StatsHigh Mobility + Resilience
Melee kills trigger Assassin's Cowl healing and invisibility. Very high kill speed once you get comfortable. Tractor Cannon debuffs the boss for fast DPS phases.
Universal Tips for Any Build
Always bring anti-champion weapons matching the sector's active modifiers. Match surges and threats shown in the sector details before loading in. Clear adds first, then boss - never rush the final DPS phase without add cleanup.
Key Decision Points
Which Sector to Run

Check daily rotation for reward slot. Bunker E15 and K1 Revelation are the easiest. Harder sectors (Perdition, Concealed Void) give the same rewards - only run them if easier ones aren't available.

Focus vs. Free Decode

Use Rahool's daily free focusing first for a targeted slot. Only spend Exotic Ciphers on specific pieces you're missing and can't get from the rotation.

Which Class to Use

Warlock Void for maximum sustainability. Hunter Arc for fastest clears once comfortable. Titan with Loreley Splendor is a solid middle ground.

When to Stop

Drop rates are not guaranteed. 5-10 runs per session is the efficient range before diminishing returns on your time. Supplement with Vex Strike Force and Xur for the remaining gaps.
