Destiny 2 Arc Titan Meta Build
The Storm's Keep Bolt Charge setup that players are calling meta-defining - barricade DPS, Thunderclap melee loop, and the exotic choices that make Arc Titan a top pick for raids, dungeons, and GM Nightfalls.
Core Problem
Arc Titan has historically been a PvP subclass with limited PvE viability. That changed with Storm's Keep - an Aspect that grants Bolt Charge stacks to you and allies behind your barricade, turning Rally Barricade into a team-wide DPS engine. Players want to know the exact setup to make this work in endgame content without dying to the aggressive melee playstyle Arc demands.
This build solves both: Storm's Keep for safe team DPS phases, and Knockout + Thunderclap for aggressive add-clear with built-in healing and damage resistance.
Subclass Setup
Core Abilities
Super: Thundercrash - high burst DPS. Pair with Cuirass of the Falling Star for massive impact damage on bosses.
Class Ability: Rally Barricade - faster cooldown with Storm's Keep, essential for DPS phases.
Grenade: Pulse Grenade - great add clear, pairs with fragments for jolt and shock effects.
Melee: Thunderclap - charged melee for big damage plus Amplified. The core of aggressive play.
Aspects
Storm's Keep - the main meta pick. Grants Bolt Charge stacks to you and allies behind your barricade. Weapons discharge stacks as lightning bolts. This is what makes the build work in team content.
Knockout - melee kills heal you and grant damage resistance. Keeps you alive when you need to get in melee range for Thunderclap.
Fragments
Spark of Recharge (melee energy on orbs and ionic traces), Spark of Shock (jolt on grenades), Spark of Resistance (damage resistance when amplified), Spark of Frequency (faster Bolt Charge buildup).

Armor Mods and Stats
Stat priority: 100 Resilience, then Recovery, then Discipline. Strength is less important with Knockout and Ionic Traces refunding melee energy.
Helmet: Arc Siphon, Heavy Ammo Finder, Heavy Ammo Scout.
Arms: Focusing Strike, Harmonic Loader, Bolstering Detonation.
Chest: Resistance mods matching the activity, Reserves.
Legs: Arc Surge mods or Recuperation / Better Already for healing.
Class Item: Powerful Attraction, Reaper, Bomber.
Artifact perks: Overclock/Load, Dielectric, Flashover, Heavy Ordnance - anything boosting Bolt Charge and Arc/Void synergy.
Play Loop
Add Clear
Throw Pulse Grenade into groups, follow with a charged Thunderclap melee. Stay Amplified for the speed boost and damage resistance from Spark of Resistance. Knockout keeps you healed on melee kills.
Boss DPS
Drop Rally Barricade, stand behind it with your fireteam, and unload weapons. Anarchy shots plus a void primary, or Thunderlord spam, will proc constant Bolt Charge lightning strikes. Refresh barricade as soon as it expires - the Bolt Charge uptime is your damage.
Survivability
Knockout melee kills heal and grant damage resistance. Collect orbs and ionic traces for ability energy refunds. Use Thundercrash for burst damage or as an emergency escape tool.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Ignoring Storm's Keep barricade in DPS phases - it is the single biggest damage multiplier in the build. Drop barricade before every damage window.
- Low Discipline or Strength - abilities will not loop without enough stat investment. Aim for 100 Resilience first, then push Discipline.
- Standing in front of the barricade instead of behind it - no Bolt Charge stacks if you are not behind cover.
- Not using Pulse Grenade or jolt/shock fragments - the synergy between grenade jolt and Bolt Charge is where the add-clear power comes from.
- Over-relying on Thundercrash without setup - the super needs good positioning and benefits enormously from Cuirass of the Falling Star.
