TL;DR stigma set: Element Enhancement + Fire Wall + Delayed Explosion + Cold Storm — 43% of sampled top Sorcerers run exactly this. Element Enhancement is near-universal (90%) because its tiers multiply your other passives.

Skill priority — where points go first

  1. 1
    Hellfire

Your main damage button — a charged nuke. Take the +30% skill speed specialty and the multi-hit specialty that ignores block and evasion. Aim for level 16+ for the cooldown reduction.

  2. 2
    Firestorm

+20% skill speed, and each fireball shaves 2s off Hellfire's cooldown — this is what makes the rotation loop. Some builds take the 50% MP cost cut instead of skill speed.

  3. 3
    Blaze

Delayed damage that lands 3s after cast, then goes multi-hit at level 12. Weave it between Hellfire casts.

  4. 4
    Wish of Concentration

Self-buff: +10% attack, +10% combat speed, and its hit cuts 10s off other skill cooldowns.

  5. 5
    Bittercold Wind & Flame Arrow

Bittercold Wind is a ground DoT — keep it down on bosses. Flame Arrow is your filler: 50% multi-hit plus a 5% fire damage boost.

The four stigmas

Slots open at levels 22, 27, 32 and 37. You register 4 of 13 and can't swap in combat.

StigmaWhy it's in
Element EnhancementEquipped by ~90% of top Sorcerers — its tiers multiply Robe of Flame and Grace of Enhancement
Fire WallGround burn that keeps ticking on bosses; worth maxing only once other skills are online
Delayed ExplosionExtra burst layered into the Hellfire window
Cold StormFrost-side area damage; after the Oct 13 patch it keeps its bonuses across height differences

Gear and stats

The most common weapon among top players is the Spiritforged Spellbook (worn by ~44%, median enchant +10). For stats, stack Accuracy first until you're not missing, then Attack and PvE Damage Boost — no two sources agree on a single order past that, so follow your uptime.

Playing it well

  1. ●
    Firestorm feeds Hellfire

Every Firestorm fireball cuts Hellfire's cooldown — the class is a cooldown-management puzzle, not a spam fest.

  2. ●
    Watch your MP

The Sorcerer is MP-hungry. Factor MP restoration into specialties (Flame Arrow's boost pairs well with MP regen).

  3. ●
    Weak early, monster late

It feels feeble before cooldowns come down — that's normal. The build comes online around the mid-30s and spikes at 45.

  4. ●
    Thin on survivability

Keep Steel Barrier / Arctic Armor habits from leveling — in dungeons your mitigation plan matters as much as your opener.
