The Core Problem

Fire Support pickups (Zeus Wrath radios/walkie-talkies) specifically target the race leader. Going from 1st to last in seconds is not bad luck - it is the intended mechanic. The best players use weapons, powerup denial, and track positioning to stay in contention regardless of starting position.

Key mindset shift: Your car is disposable. Weapons and positioning matter more than pure driving speed.

Race Strategy by Phase

Phase 1

Race Start - Positioning & Initial Scramble

  • Consider starting in mid or back of pack - leaders absorb all Fire Support fire.
  • Sprint aggressively but grab weapons/traps early rather than tunneling toward the best car.
  • Priority grab items: Taygedo's Hammer, Gigafluff, Paper Squadron, Ghostly Kite, Imaginadough, Weird Bandage - use them to disrupt opponents immediately.
  • Recommended character: Daffodil - basic attack into dodge repeatedly for fastest on-foot movement.
  • Ram and push from the first second. Polite driving is a losing strategy.
Phase 2

Early-Mid Race - Car Management

  • Grab the best available car fast. Fast sports cars (LaVelox/Porsche-type) give speed but die in 2-3 Fire Support hits.
  • Stuck in a slow starter car? Brake, exit, and swap immediately - do not stick with it.
  • Shoot all holographic animals (pigs/ducks/balloons) on sight - they are massive speed bumps.
  • Collect every Universal Wrench (repair item) you pass. Avoid tarry/oily track patches.
  • Ram opponents actively - dealing damage to their car is just as valuable as driving faster.
Phase 3

Powerup Priority - Controlling the Race

Pick up powerups in this priority order:

Top Priority

Fire Support (Zeus Wrath radios) - pick up EVERY single one, especially in the long corridor. They target the leader. Deny them to opponents.

High Priority

Gatling Gun / Ice Gun / RPG Launcher - Gatling clears balloons fast and pressures cars. RPG creates chaos. Hold and use in the final stretch.

Always Do

Take the long Zeus corridor instead of shortcuts. The powerup advantage from that path outweighs any time saved by shortcuts.

Universal Wrench

Repair items - always grab these to keep your car alive through the midgame. A healthy car is far better than a faster replacement.

Zeus corridor tip: Spam Fire Supports in the final stretch here rather than taking the shortcut. Many players report winning by farming supports on the long path and letting leaders get eliminated.
Phase 4

Late Race Recovery - When Your Car Explodes

  • Car explodes while leading? Sprint immediately to the nearest replacement using Daffodil dodge spam, Zero, Skia, or Chiz for fastest movement.
  • Alternative: hop into an opponent's car as a passenger/gunner. You share their position and rewards while shooting from behind to protect the car.
  • In the final sections, prioritize the long path for Fire Supports even if it feels slower.
  • Do not take isolated shortcuts when behind - they leave you exposed with no support pickups.
Expect your car to explode when you lead. This is intentional game design, not bad luck. Have a recovery plan ready before you hit the front.

Key Decision Points

Choice

Fast Car vs. Tanky Car

Take a fast car early for the initial lead. If Fire Supports are heavily stacking on the leader, switch to a tankier car - fast cars die in 2-3 hits from supports.

Choice

Shortcut vs. Long Zeus Corridor Path

Almost always take the long path. Fire Support denial along the Zeus corridor is worth more than the shortcut time saved. The long path wins races in the final stretch.

Choice

Drive Solo vs. Hop in as Gunner

If driving feels inconsistent (especially on mobile), hop in as a passenger/gunner in a teammate's car. Shared rewards, one less driver competing, and you get to focus entirely on weapons.

Choice

How Aggressive to Be

When behind: focus on ruining the leader's race with every weapon you have. When in 3rd/4th: stay low-key, then spike hard with held weapons in the final stretch.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

Treating it like a clean speed race and ignoring weapons - you will get eliminated by Fire Support spam while focused on the road.

Taking every shortcut and skipping the Zeus corridor - misses the most critical Fire Support denial opportunities.

Ignoring holographic animals - hitting them causes massive slowdowns at the worst possible moments.

Staying in a heavily damaged car - bail and switch before it explodes in a bad position.

Playing too politely - ramming and weapon harassment is the effective meta. Aggressive play wins races.
