Core Goal
Chaos is a single-target burst DPS who deletes bosses with well-timed charged Verdicts. His damage comes from quick Crime ramp-up, Remora extension via supports, and prioritizing key Awakenings. This build maximizes his burst window and fixes his main pain point: slow Crime generation.
-
1
Pull Chaos and his signature Arc if possible. The signature is strong but not mandatory, so F2P alternatives work fine.
-
2
Farm ascension and skill materials immediately. Focus Condensate and pre-farm lists shared widely in community discussions. Level Chaos to 80.
-
3
Skill priority: Basic Attack > Skill > Ultimate. Core damage comes from enhanced charged attacks and Remora procs, so Basic Attack scaling matters most.
Equip the best available Arc first. Arcs directly boost kit multipliers and CRIT stats.
What's Desired
Signature Arc - Best in Slot
+20% Lakshana DMG, 40% CRIT DMG after Redirect Skill/Ult with near-permanent uptime. Unlocks exclusive look. Feels noticeably smoother to play.
A Time Will Come
Strong F2P Option
+8% CRIT Rate plus team-wide buffs (ATK/DEF/HP) with 3+ different Esper types. Best free-to-play alternative that still performs well.
Fluff of Ferocity
Battle Pass Alternative
Builds CRIT DMG on attacks. Solid mid-tier option if you have Battle Pass access but no signature.
Street Boxer (4pc) - Recommended Set
-
+
+10% Lakshana DMG and 14% CRIT Rate for 20s after Remora/Stain trigger. Great kit synergy.
-
+
Main Stat: Lakshana DMG%. Triggers Remora easily and amps his burst window.
-
+
Pair with Hathor or Skia for extra CRIT Rate coverage.
1
CRIT Rate
Top priority, enables consistent burst
2
CRIT DMG
Aim for 1:2 ratio with CRIT Rate
3
Universal DMG%
General damage amplification
4
ATK%
Base scaling, lowest priority of the four
Type III Module Stack
-
+
Stack Type III Modules - each gives 16% CRIT DMG. A 4-piece set gives 64% total CRIT DMG, a massive hidden boost.
-
+
Main Stats: Lakshana DMG / CRIT Rate / CRIT DMG. Tailored to his playstyle.
-
+
Substats: Same as Cartridge - CRIT Rate > CRIT DMG > Universal DMG% > ATK%.
Why this matters: Type III Modules are the biggest hidden damage multiplier for Chaos. Skipping them is the difference between 50k and 100k+ Verdict hits.
F2P players should stop at A1/A2. These fix his main pain point (slow Crime build) and add DEF shred and burst damage.
A1
Piercing Insight
Attacking Warrant targets grants +40% Crime. Must-have, speeds up every rotation dramatically.
Must
A2
Charge / Sin
20% DEF ignore on Warrant targets. Massive vs. bosses.
Must
A3
Ult CRIT DMG
Ult gives 30% CRIT DMG for 20s, refreshes on use.
Great
A4
Warrant Transfer
Warrant transfers on kill. Useful for multi-target content.
Situational
A5
Single-Target Amp
+20% DMG vs. single Warrant target. Bosses only.
Great
A6
Instant Max Crime
Instant max Crime after Ult. Strongest burst window enabler.
Great
Follow this exact order for maximum damage. Warrant first for amp, supports for setup, Ult for gauge flood, then dump into charged attacks.
1
Skill (Doubtmark) to apply Warrant (+30% DMG amp).Always start here. Without Warrant, you lose 30% damage on everything that follows.
2
Swap to supports (Hathor / Esper Zero / Haniel) for Remora extension, energy, and buffs.Remora extension is the biggest multiplier. Hathor extends Remora duration for massive passive procs.
3
Ultimate (Retribution) to enter Dread Echo mode.Rapid Crime generation at 150/s for approximately 12 seconds. This is your burst window.
4
Spam Charged Final Verdict (hold Basic Attack) for massive 2-hit slam.Repeat enhanced attacks during the Ult window. This is where the damage happens.
5
Trigger Remora end for huge multiplier hit.Scales with Remora duration, which is why extension via Hathor is critical. Well-timed Remora procs hit 100k+.
Why this order: Warrant first for amp, supports for setup, Ult for gauge flood, then dump into charged attacks. Remora extension (especially with Hathor) turns the passive into 100k+ chunks.
Remora extension is the biggest team multiplier. Always include at least one Remora extender.

Team logic: Hathor extends Remora, Esper Zero provides energy and Remora support, Sakiri adds personal DPS. Haniel is an excellent buffer for Chaos and is often discussed as the best accessible alternative.
Signature Arc or F2P alternative?
Signature (What's Desired) is strongly preferred for the 40% CRIT DMG and Lakshana DMG boost. If you don't have it, A Time Will Come is a solid F2P pick with team-wide buffs. Don't hold progression waiting for the signature.
How many Awakenings for F2P?
Stop at A1 and A2. These two fix his core pain point (slow Crime build) and add DEF shred. A3 through A6 are great but not required for strong performance. Focus resources elsewhere first.
Which support is essential?
Hathor is the single most important support for Chaos. Remora extension is the biggest damage multiplier in his kit. Without Hathor, you miss the massive passive proc damage that makes his rotation work.
x
Skipping Warrant application before rotation. You lose 30% damage amp and slower Crime generation on every hit.
x
Poor Remora management with no extension support. Without Hathor or similar, you miss the massive passive proc that defines his damage ceiling.
x
Bad CRIT ratio or ignoring Type III Modules. Modules give 64% CRIT DMG as a hidden boost. Skipping them cuts your DPS nearly in half.
x
Ignoring A1 Awakening. Without A1 (Piercing Insight), rotations are painfully slow. This should be your first Awakening target.
x
Not using his Teleport Anchor for exploration and farming. Huge quality-of-life bonus that players often overlook outside of combat.
