Quest A Breeze Through the Cage Boss Level 50 Combat Hand-to-Hand Only Reward Painkillers
Core Goal

Complete the side quest "A Breeze Through the Cage" to fight Tornado, a Lv. 50 prison Fight Club boss. The fight uses fist-to-hand combat only (no Esper abilities or weapons), making timing critical. Winning unlocks 3 repeatable difficulty levels (Light Sparring, Serious Fight, No Mercy) for Painkiller farming without depleting city stamina.

Fight Tornado - Core Mechanics

No Esper abilities or weapons. Pure hand-to-hand combat with blocking, dodging, and throws. Your character is fixed and unenhanced, so timing is everything.

🤞
Block and Parry Spam
Critical Riposte is not available. Spam blocks on his attack patterns to chip away at his Break/Shield gauge. Successive parries (3-4 in a row with good timing) break the shield fast.
Dodge Sideways, Not Backward
Default dodge is a backstep. Avoid backward + dodge inputs because it turns your back to him and makes distancing hard. Dodge sideways or forward to create openings.
👊
Punch Then Throw After Shield Break
Punch when safe. Once the shield breaks, land Grapple/Throws or ultimate skill if available for huge damage. This is the biggest damage window in the fight.
🚚
Heal Mid-Fight
Use healing items via phone, inventory, or quick wheel if struggling. Food buffs before the fight also help, as recommended by community players.

After Winning - Unlock Difficulties

Key Decision Points

Which difficulty to start with?
Start with Light Sparring for practice. The moveset stays the same across all difficulties. Higher modes mostly add HP and time, not new attacks. No Mercy is popular but uses the same timing once you know the patterns.
Which dodge direction is safest?
Prioritize sideways or forward dodges. Backward dodges turn your back to Tornado and make it harder to maintain distance and positioning. Stay facing him at all times.
When should I heal?
Save healing for when the shield is low or your HP is under 30%. Quick access via inventory or phone. Don't waste heals early when you can block through damage instead.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

x
Expecting normal combat. No abilities or weapons are available. The fight feels different from regular combat and trips people up. Adapt to pure hand-to-hand.
x
Backward dodging. Turns your back to Tornado and gains no real distance. Always dodge sideways or forward.
x
Ignoring blocks and parries. Spamming blocks is the key to breaking his shield quickly. Without parries, the fight takes far too long.
x
Not landing throws after shield break. The biggest damage window is wasted if you keep punching instead of grappling. Always throw when the shield drops.
x
Expecting huge difficulty spikes across modes. Higher difficulties are mostly attrition (more HP, more time). The moveset and timing remain the same. Don't overthink it.
