Best Sunday teams - ranked by performance
Sunday works with nearly any non-Break DPS. Avoid pairing him with pure Firefly or Rappa superbreak teams - his Action Advance and crit buffs don't interact with Break mechanics. For everything else, he is an immediate upgrade.
1
Aglaea Hypercarry
Aglaea DPS
Sunday Support
Robin / Tribbie 2nd Support
Huohuo Sustain
Sunday "slingshots" Aglaea's gameplay by enabling her summons to act more frequently. His Action Advance stacks directly with Aglaea's summon-based kit for the highest ceiling in the current meta. Best for MoC and Apocalyptic Shadow pushing.
2
Jing Yuan Revival
Strong & Accessible
Jing Yuan DPS
Sunday Support
Robin / Tribbie 2nd Support
Huohuo / Gallagher Sustain
Sunday transforms Jing Yuan from mid-tier to a strong endgame contender. His energy regen and AA let Lightning Lord act more consistently. Excellent if you already built Jing Yuan before.
3
DHIL / Jingliu / Blade Hypercarry
Proven
DHIL / Jingliu / Blade DPS
Sunday Support
Sparkle / Bronya 2nd Support
Luocha / Aventurine Sustain
Classic crit hypercarries benefit heavily from Sunday's crit rate buff and energy regen. For DHIL use the
-1 SPD setup (Sunday acts just before DPS) to maximize SP positivity. Sparkle or Bronya fills the second support slot for the extra action.
4
Yunli Quick-Swap
Counter Synergy
Yunli DPS
Sunday Support
Robin 2nd Support
Huohuo Sustain
Sunday at
160+ SPD (hyperspeed) gives Yunli more frequent Ultimate windows, which is her main damage source. Robin amplifies counter damage. Requires SPD tuning investment but output is very high.
5
F2P / Budget
Accessible
Ratio / Serval DPS
Sunday Support
Asta / Hanya 2nd Support
Lynx Sustain
Sunday still provides a meaningful upgrade even with free or early DPS characters. Viable for story, Simulated Universe, and lower MoC floors while saving for the carries that maximize his kit.
How to play
Sunday rotation and SPD tuning
-
1Set Sunday's SPD relative to your DPSFor most hypercarries: run Sunday at
DPS SPD - 1. This means Sunday acts just before the DPS on turn cycles, which maximizes his Action Advance and energy feed timing. For Yunli: run160+ SPDhyperspeed so Sunday acts as often as possible. -
2Use Skill on DPS every turnSunday's Skill grants Action Advance to the target ally and regenerates their energy. Always Skill onto your main DPS, not supports. This is the core of his kit and should be the default action on every turn unless you are Ultimating.
-
3Ultimate for the crit DMG buff windowSunday's Ultimate provides a crit rate and crit DMG buff aura centered on the DPS. Activate it before your DPS uses their big damage window or Ultimate. The timing of this buff is what separates good Sunday play from great Sunday play.
-
4Manage SP carefully without his signature LCAt
E0S0Sunday can become SP-negative if you Skill every turn. Use Basic Attack when SP is low. His signature Light Cone addresses this. If running without it, track SP and alternate Skill and Basic Attack based on the party's needs.
Decision points
Key choices for Sunday teams
-
Summon DPS or classic hypercarry?Summon DPS (Aglaea, Jing Yuan) maximizes Sunday's unique Action Advance + summon interaction for the absolute highest ceiling. Classic hypercarry (DHIL, Jingliu) is excellent if you already have them built - still a top-tier pairing, just slightly lower ceiling than summon teams.
-
What to put in the second support slot?Robin for team-wide damage amplification (best with Aglaea/Yunli). Sparkle or Bronya for additional turns on crit hypercarries. Ruan Mei as a general-purpose pick that works across all team types. Match to the DPS's primary damage source.
-
Is E1 or S1 worth it?E0S1 is the recommended investment target - his signature LC solves SP issues and meaningfully boosts his buff output. E1 is a strong combat upgrade but S1 gives more consistent comfort across all team types. Vertical investment on the DPS (e.g., Aglaea E1) often matters more than Sunday's own constellations.
Common mistakes
What players get wrong with Sunday
- Pairing Sunday with Firefly or Rappa superbreak. His kit provides Action Advance, energy regen, and crit buffs - none of which interact with Break mechanics. Running him in a superbreak team wastes his entire support value.
- Ignoring SPD tuning. Running Sunday at the wrong SPD relative to your DPS causes turn order collisions that break his Action Advance timing. Test the -1 SPD setup in Simulated Battle before deploying in MoC.
- Spamming Skill without tracking SP. Without his signature LC, constant Skill use makes Sunday SP-negative and starves the rest of the team. Basic Attack turns exist for SP recovery - use them when the party is healthy.
- Building Sunday's relics before the DPS. Sunday's value comes from the DPS he supports. Under-investing in the carry's relics and traces while over-investing in Sunday means his buffs have nothing to amplify.
- Using Acheron at E0 without Jiaoqiu or sigs. Acheron needs consistent stack generation to use her Ultimate frequently. At E0 without specific supports, Sunday's energy regen doesn't fully compensate for the stack generation deficit.
