Key Decision: 1-Turn vs 2-Turn Ult Setup

Before building Kafka, decide which Ult rotation style fits your account. This determines your SPD targets, Light Cone choices, and relic farming priorities.

Build Steps

1. Hit 75%+ Effect Hit Rate (EHR)

   This is non-negotiable post-rework. Kafka's A2 trace grants a massive team-wide ATK% buff when she reaches 75% EHR. Use EHR substats, the Eyes of the Prey Light Cone if needed, or the Tutorial LC to bridge the gap. This is the single most important threshold for her reworked kit.
2. Farm the Right Relic Sets

   • Best 4pc: Eagle of Twilight Line (action advance after Ult for more turns per cycle). Great for both setups.
   • Alternative: Prisoner in Deep Confinement (DEF ignore per DoT type, stacks well with multi-DoT teams like Hysilens + Black Swan).
   • Farm for SPD substats heavily. Do not roll Crit stats, as DoT damage cannot crit.
3. Choose Planar Ornaments

   • Lushaka: ERR + team ATK buff (if Kafka isn't first in lineup). Great for 1-turn setups.
   • Glamoth: High-SPD ATK boosts for aggressive action frequency builds.
4. Pick Your Light Cone

   • Best F2P: Before the Tutorial Mission Starts (Herta Shop). Energy on DEF-reduced enemies enables near-constant ULTs and helps EHR.
   • Signature: Patience Is All You Need (SPD stacks + DoT bonus).
   • Alternatives: Good Night and Sleep Well, or Jiaoqiu's cone for vulnerability stacking.
5. Optimize Main Stats and Substats

   Substat priority: SPD > EHR (to 75%+) > ATK% > flat ATK

6. Target SPD Breakpoints

   SPD determines how often Kafka acts, which directly controls detonation frequency. These are the community-verified breakpoints:

   With Eagle of Twilight Line for action advances

   2-Turn Setup (Baseline)

   Minimum for consistent 2-turn Ult cycle

   2-Turn with Robin

   Adjusts for Robin's action advance timing

7. Level Traces in Priority Order

   Ult > Skill > Talent > Basic. Unlock all bonus traces, especially Thorns for extra follow-up charges. The Talent follow-up now triggers on any ally attack (up to 3 charges), making it a core detonation source.

Team Compositions

Kafka needs strong DoT appliers to detonate. She detonates via Skill (blast AoE), Ult (all DoT types on all enemies), and Talent follow-ups (on any ally attack, up to 3 charges). Without a DoT partner, she underperforms badly.

Rotation (2-Turn Example)

1. Open with Kafka's Technique to pre-apply Shock before combat.
2. Use Skill to detonate blast DoTs on primary targets.
3. Act with allies to proc Kafka's Talent follow-up detonations (up to 3 charges).
4. Cast Ult when ready for a full-team DoT detonation across all enemies.
5. Repeat the cycle. Aim for 3+ turns per cycle with SPD tuning.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

• Building Crit stats. DoT damage cannot crit. Every Crit substat is wasted on Kafka.
• Ignoring the 75% EHR threshold. Missing this means losing the massive team ATK% buff from her A2 trace. This is the most impactful single stat breakpoint.
• Running low SPD. Fewer actions means fewer detonations and follow-up procs. SPD is the engine of Kafka's detonator role.
• Using 1-turn Ult without energy tools. If you lack ERR rope, energy LCs, or reliable kill/hit energy, the Ult will not be ready every turn and the rotation collapses.
• Running Kafka without a DoT partner. Kafka detonates existing DoTs. Without a strong DoT applier on the team, there is nothing to detonate and her damage falls off a cliff.
