Core Problem

Bosses don't have fixed spawns - they appear randomly across a shared pool of ~9 locations. They only show up after the first storm circle closes. You'll need a vehicle and a patrol route to find them without wasting time or getting caught in the open.

Step-by-Step: Find and Defeat Bosses

1
Land Centrally and Grab a Vehicle

Drop at or near The Battlewoods - a central safe-ish starting point with vehicles nearby. Immediately grab a car or truck before anything else.

Random spawns across 9 locations mean you need wheels to check spots quickly before the circle closes in or squads converge on the same boss.

2
Wait for Circle 1, Then Patrol the Spawn Pool

Bosses only appear after the first storm circle closes. While waiting, loot your landing zone. Once circle 1 closes, drive in a loop through these locations and watch your minimap for the red skull icon (appears within ~200m):

  • North of Calami/Calamari Canyon (trees)
  • Collider Corridor north of Calami Canyon
  • Extractor Point northeast of Calami Canyon
  • North of Heatwave Harbor
  • West of The Battlewoods
  • Trees where Battlewoods meets Zero Point
  • East of snowy section between Battlewoods and Wonkeeland
  • Snowy area southwest of Latte Landing
  • Extraction Site west of Golden Grove
Audio Cue

You'll hear a distinctive audio cue when you're close to a boss. Watch for the red skull on the minimap simultaneously.

3
Engage the Boss

Approach cautiously - they don't aggro until you shoot first. Use this to get into a good position with cover and high ground before opening fire.

Use cover, slides, and mobility. Focus fire continuously - don't let them reset. Each boss has different attack patterns (see Boss Tactics below).

Decision Point

If you spot the skull but hear heavy fighting nearby, decide quickly - push if your loadout is strong and you have position, or rotate away to avoid getting sandwiched. Early game: push. Mid game: safer plays first.

4
Loot and Rotate Out Immediately

Each boss drops a Chug Jug + Legendary or Mythic weapon (weapon type is RNG). Grab it and rotate toward the safe zone immediately.

Boss fight locations are high third-party risk. Don't linger to loot everything - take the Mythic and go.

Boss-Specific Tactics

Voidblade
Burst Assault Rifle + sword/jump attacks
Keep moving laterally to avoid her sword jumps. Use an SMG or high-DPS AR to burn her down before she gains height advantage. She's most dangerous when elevated.
Prioritize for the mythic accuracy-boosting AR
💀
Skeletor
Extending Focus / Reacher Shotgun + shield heal + projectiles
Stay mid-range and maintain constant pressure with burst AR/SMG to interrupt his heals. Don't let him reset shields. Dodge by staying outside shotgun range.
Best drop for the shotgun mythic
🐺
Wolfe
Maven Auto Shotgun + fast/teleport moves + revealing howl
His howl reveals your position to nearby players. Stay mobile at all times - slide, jump, never stand still. Pair SMG + shotgun for sustained DPS in close quarters.
Best for aggressive close-range playstyle

Common Mistakes

x
Landing directly on a POI hoping for a fixed boss. Spawns are random - you need to patrol the pool every match.
x
Traveling on foot between zones. Too slow. You'll miss the boss window or arrive as another squad is finishing the fight.
x
Engaging without a proper loadout. Bosses hit hard. Have at minimum AR + SMG and full shield before pushing.
x
Ignoring the minimap skull or audio cues. Easy to miss while looting. Keep one eye on the minimap after circle 1 closes.
x
Staying at the fight site after defeating the boss. High third-party risk. Take the Mythic and rotate out immediately.
