Power Hour runs every Saturday in two sessions: 2:00–4:00 PM ET and 9:00–11:00 PM ET. Each week carries one theme — sometimes a boosted Sprite family, sometimes everyone starts a match with an item — and Epic announces it in-game, not on a fixed calendar.

What a Power Hour actually changes

One theme per Saturday. The mix below covers what the rotation has included.

Boosted Sprite spawns

The featured Sprite or variant family appears far more often — the whole point of the event for collectors.

Better island loot

Chests can carry extras like 1-Up Tokens and Portable Extractors during the window.

Match modifiers

Some hours start every player with an item — past themes granted things like Seven Sliders or a Self-Revive Device at drop.

Extraction bonuses

Stronger themes (like Mythic Hours) have added perks such as full health restore and the Slap effect on Sprite extraction.

Themed hours seen so far

The theme rotates weekly and Epic confirms each one in-game. Recent rotation:

ThemeWhat it featured
Community SpritesThe five Design-A-Sprite winners — Onigiri, X-Ray, Pond, Dumpster Dive, Honey — and all their variants spawn more often; during Fortnitemares every player also started matches as an animatronic carrying Finger Guns.
Mythic HoursRaised Mythic Sprite spawn rates with the strongest bonuses of the rotation.
Golden HoursEleven Gold Sprite variants, including Gold versions of Sonic, Tails, Shadow, Jonesy and Klombo.
Shiny HoursBoosted Gold, Gummy, Galaxy and Holofoil variants together.
Collab hoursTie-ins like Kingdom Hearts items have headlined individual Saturdays.

Get the most out of a window

Two hours goes fast — the value is spawn density, so plan before you drop.

  1. 1
    Check the week's theme first

Epic posts the weekly roadmap on its social channels (usually Sunday) and the in-game news fills in details. Queue for Battle Royale once the window opens — no sign-up needed.

  2. 2
Land chest-dense when chests carry extras

On weeks with 1-Up Tokens and Portable Extractors in chests, high-chest-count POIs pay off. Extract early once you have what you came for.

  3. 3
    Chain both sessions

Four total hours across the day. If the afternoon window clashes with real life, the 9 PM ET session is the friendlier slot on the West Coast (6 PM PT).

  4. 4
Fill collection gaps, don't grind commons

A featured Sprite that takes a dozen ordinary matches to find might show up two or three times in one boosted session. Target what you are still missing.

Common questions

Is Power Hour every Saturday?

It has run every Saturday during the current season in two windows. Epic can shift or skip a week, so the in-game news tab is the final word.

How do I join a Power Hour?

Just play Battle Royale during the window — the bonuses apply server-side. There's no special playlist or registration.

Is Power Hour the same as Heroic Hours?

No. Heroic Hours are Save the World's separate recurring event; Power Hours listed here are Battle Royale. Their schedules differ.

Do Power Hour rewards carry over?

Yes — Sprites collected, tokens looted and items earned during the window stay in your account. Only the boosted rates end.
