Chapter 6 Season 3 Meta Pistol Loadout
Pistol-focused loadout guide for Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3 (Star Wars) - DL-44 Blaster and WESTAR-34 dual pistols, SMG pairing, and mobility strategies for the no-shotgun meta.
Chapter 6 Season 3
No Shotgun Meta
Zero Build & Ranked
The No-Shotgun Meta
Chapter 6 Season 3 removed shotguns entirely, replacing them with Star Wars blasters. Close-range fights now rely on pistols and SMGs instead of traditional pump plays. The DL-44 Blaster Pistol and WESTAR-34 Dual Blaster Pistols fill the shotgun void with hip-fire accuracy and burst damage.
Meta Pistol Loadout
1
DL-44 Blaster Pistol / WESTAR-34 Dual Pistols
Primary - Close/Mid
Your main weapon. DL-44 is available from the start; WESTAR-34 duals drop after the mid-season update and offer higher DPS with dual-wield. Hip-fire in tight spaces, ADS for mid-range peeks. Pair with jetpack to close gaps aggressively.
2
CR-2 Blaster SMG / Scatter Blaster
Secondary - Sustained CQC
For sustained close-range fire when pistol ammo runs low or you need suppressive pressure. Switch to this mid-fight to keep DPS up while reloading your pistol.
3
DLT-19 / IQA-11 / A280-CFE Blaster Rifle
Mid/Long Range
For third-partying, holding angles, and long-range poke. Many standard ARs were outclassed by blasters this season. Keep one blaster rifle for range coverage.
4
Shockwave Grenades / Jetpack
Mobility
Essential in a no-shotgun meta. Without one-shot close-range damage, getting caught out of position is deadly. Always carry a movement item to reposition, escape, or close gaps.
5
Medkit / Shield Potions / Chug Splash
Healing
Standard heal slot. Prioritize shield potions first since pistol fights often involve chip damage. Chug Splash for quick heals between fights.
Step-by-Step Execution
-
1Land hot for blaster upgrades Drop at high-loot POIs with Star Wars weapons. Prioritize chests and crates for the DL-44 Blaster Pistol. Upgrade to rare or epic variants quickly via loot or NPCs. Early close-range power is critical in a shotgun-less meta where fights break out fast.
-
2Equip your primary pistol Lock in the DL-44 Blaster (or WESTAR-34 duals if available post-mid-season update). Use hip-fire in builds or tight spaces, ADS for precision at mid-range. This fills the shotgun slot for aggressive pushes and quick elims.
-
3Add a blaster SMG for sustained fire Pick up a CR-2 Blaster SMG or scatter blaster as your secondary. Switch to it when pistol ammo runs low or for suppressive fire. The pistol plus SMG combo dominates CQC in the no-shotgun meta.
-
4Fill range and utility slots Grab a blaster rifle (DLT-19, IQA-11, or A280-CFE) for mid-to-long range. Add Shockwaves or a jetpack for mobility. Skip standard ARs since most are outclassed by blasters this season.
-
5Play aggressively but smart Use the pistol's strengths for peeks and build fights. In zero build, focus on high ground and mobility. Farm blaster ammo specifically since standard ammo does not apply. Rotate early to avoid getting caught in crossfires.
Key Decision Points
-
DL-44 vs WESTAR-34: Choose DL-44 early for availability. Switch to WESTAR-34 duals post-mid-season update for higher DPS and dual-wield feel. Test both and pick the one with better accuracy in your hands.
-
Zero Build vs Builds: In zero build, lean heavier on pistol plus SMG for mobility fights. In builds, add more utility items for edits and box fights since close-range dynamics change with build mechanics.
-
Ammo and Upgrades: Always prioritize blaster ammo over standard ammo. Mythic or exotic pistol variants are worth chasing if available, as they offer significant DPS upgrades.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Picking up standard ARs early. Most standard ARs are outclassed by blasters and pistols in the no-shotgun meta. Stick to blaster rifles for range coverage.
- Ignoring mobility items. Without shotguns, getting caught out of position is deadly. Always carry a movement item (Shockwaves, jetpack) to reposition or escape.
- Fighting outside pistol range. Pistols shine up close but lose at long range. Do not force fights outside their effective distance. Use your blaster rifle for long-range engagements instead.
- Not farming blaster ammo. Blaster weapons use specific ammo types. Running out mid-fight with no backup ammo is a common death cause. Farm blaster ammo whenever possible.
