WARDOGS Revive Downed Teammates: Medic Guide
Keep teammates in the zone instead of sending them back to HQ. Smoke the angle, drag to cover, use a rebreather for fast revives. Here is the full medic loop and the mistakes that cost the squad.
Core problem: Keep teammates in the Control or Hot Zone instead of sending them back to HQ. A full death costs their loadout and a long walk. A safe revive keeps numbers on the hill and pays you cash plus Medic XP. Players lose this fight by standing on an open body, going too heavy to reach it, grabbing the wrong interaction, or reviving the wrong team.
The Revive Loop
- 1Do not walk onto the body in the open.
Stage one layer behind the gunfight. Pre-aim the likely corpse. If two teams still own the angle, wait. A dead medic is two bodies, not one save.
- 2Smoke the deadly angle, then drag.
Throw smoke so it blooms between the body and the most likely sightline, not a cloud that blinds your own cover fire. Then drag the body behind hard cover before you start the revive. Dragging is the whole point of this medic loop.
- 3Confirm who you are touching.
You can revive players on any team. Check the body. Accidental enemy revives are a running joke in playtest clips.
- 4Use the right tool for speed.
Default revive is slow, about 30 seconds. A rebreather or resuscitator drops that to 4-5 seconds. Buy the cheap rebreather every life.
- 5Call it and leave the pixel.
Say you are starting the revive so someone holds the lane. The instant they are up, both of you leave the smoke and reset behind cover. Do not stand in the leftover cloud trading shots.
- 6Stay light enough to arrive.
Medic is not a locked class. You become one by running SMG plus medical tools and actually using them near the zone. Super Heavy as a roam medic is the common fail: you cannot reach the body.
Revive Tools
Quick Decisions
| Situation | Do this |
|---|---|
| Body in the open, angle still hot | Smoke the lane, drag first, then res |
| Safe backyard body | Cheap or slow tool is fine. Save defib and resuscitator. |
| Contested Hot Zone stack | Spend the premium tool. Numbers on the hill win the tick. |
| Someone already mid-revive | Assist if you want cash. Multiple people get paid. Do not drag them off. |
| You are the one down | Wait. Bleedout is long on purpose. Offer a cash bribe if nobody is coming. |
| Multiple bodies | Other medic first, then the player who was holding the zone. |
| Inside a vehicle | You can revive and heal in vehicles. Use it. |
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Reviving in the same pixel they died in. They stand up and eat the same bullet. Drag first.
- Buying signal grenades thinking they are smoke. Signal is a thin supply ping. Smoke is concealment for the drag. They look similar in the buy UI.
- Defaulting to drag when you meant revive (or the reverse). Be deliberate. One F-press can steal a body mid-res.
- Grief-dragging someone off another player's revive to steal the cash. It works, but it wastes the timer and tilts the squad.
- Mishandling a defibrillator and shocking friendlies. Read the prompt before you fire.
- Bandaging yourself first. Buddy-aid pays. Self-aid is expensive.
- Going Super Heavy "because medic should be tanky." You never arrive. Arrival rate beats max plates.
- Giving up immediately when down. That is a full rebuy and a trip from HQ. Bleedout is long on purpose.
