WARDOGS: Firing Range Login Queue
Get past the firing range login queue, handle auth error 1147405308 and RPC errors, and keep your slot once you are in. A long queue is the test working, not your PC failing.
Goal: Get into the WARDOGS firing range through the login queue and stay in. Tens of thousands of players slam login to reach the range and tonight's Closed Beta 2. The queue, "failed to authenticate," error 1147405308, and getting kicked after you finally get in are the things people actually care about. Devs asked for this slam. A long queue is the test working, not your PC failing.
1Get In (What to Do in Order)
- 1Confirm you actually have access.
Pre-order on Steam or an accepted playtest invite is what lets the client past the gate. Request Access on the Steam page is how non-preorder people get waves. If Steam library has no playtest or app to launch, you are not in the pool yet.
- 2Launch from Steam and stay in the queue.
Do not alt-tab spam-close the client. Community reports of 5k to 30k+ positions are normal on range day. Estimated waits of 1-2+ hours happened. Leave the window open.
- 3If you see "failed to authenticate with online services" (often with code 1147405308): treat it as auth/queue overload, not a broken install.
Wait a few minutes, then retry. Players who were queued, then hit this, later got through when auth recovered. Restarting Steam and game is the second step, not the first. Verify files only if it persists after the wave calms.
- 4If launch dies with "elytra launcher session prime failed: RPC error": close the launcher fully, relaunch from Steam, retry.
There is no consistent local fix beyond retry when backend is hot.
- 5Once you are in, stay in.
Quitting, crashing a heli far out then restarting the game, or backing to main menu is how people lose their slot and go back to 30k. Multiple threads: in, restart, locked out.
- 6If you need a reset inside the range, use the in-game menu respawn.
Players describe a 30s timed respawn on the menu. Closing the menu resets the timer. Do not fully exit unless you accept re-queue.
- 7Stuck on audio/VOIP settings with no Continue: the button is often off the bottom of the screen.
Lower UI scale or resolution, or look for a clipped Continue at the lower edge.
Decision Points
| Situation | Choice |
|---|---|
| 10k-30k queue | Stay queued. Closing resets you. Devs wanted the slam. |
| Auth error mid-queue | Wait, then retry. Do not verify files every 30 seconds. |
| In range, heli wrecked miles out | Menu respawn. Do not quit to desktop. |
| Want to practice then hop servers tonight | Keep this client session alive if you can. Re-auth at 18:00 UTC will be another slam. |
| No invite or empty library | Pre-order or keep requesting access. Queue tricks will not invent a license. |
2Once You Are in the Range
- 1Settings first: sensitivity, graphics, VOIP, binds.
RAM in range has been reported climbing past 11-22 GB. Close overlays (MSI Afterburner was called out for stutters). Aim for 32 GB if you can.
- 2Flying: official post told people to practice flying.
Vehicle vendor at the vehicle area is where helis and trucks come from. Expect crashes. Use menu respawn. Players asked for fence removal behind heli pads because they keep clipping on takeoff.
- 3Guns: free fire, zeroing (Page Up / Page Down, default ~100m).
Use the range to learn drop before you spend persistent cash in real matches.
- 4FOB and building in range: default backpack is too small (FOB is 2x3).
Get a Ural at the vehicle area, buy a larger backpack in the Ural purchase menu, buy FOB (~$2,500), load building-supply pallets, drive outside the spawn gates (you cannot place inside the protected zone), equip FOB from TAB/slot (often 4), hold LMB to place, dump supplies into it, hammer radial (RMB) for walls.
Common Mistakes
- Treating a 25k queue as servers down and relaunching every minute. Resets position. The queue itself was the test.
- Leaving the range just to reset after a bad heli crash. Use menu respawn instead. Quitting sends you back to the queue.
- Assuming Continue is missing on settings. It is often off-screen. Lower UI scale or resolution to find it.
- Buying FOB with the starter backpack and thinking building is disabled. FOB is 2x3. Get a larger backpack from the Ural purchase menu first.
- Editing ini/binds by hand to copy range settings into the main build. Players flagged BattleEye and TOS risk. Do not do it.
- Expecting full 100-player servers during the range window. That window was login and range. Live matches are the beta window.
