WARDOGS Best Starter Weapon Loadout
Keep your first $10,000 as working capital. Cash persists between matches and every death wipes the kit you bought. Here are the two starter kits that keep you armed and solvent.
Goal: Keep your first $10,000 as working capital. Cash persists between matches and every death wipes the kit you bought. Players who blow the whole stack on one "good" loadout go broke after two deaths. The starter problem is: win early fights (lots of unarmored targets), stay light enough to sprint, and still have money for a second and third life.
The Two Starter Kits
AAMP-9 Kit Buy Order
- 1AMP-9 (~$900)
Primary weapon. Cheap, light, full-auto.
- 220-round mag loaded with flesh/HP rounds
Not the 30. The 20-round mag is one inventory cell, the 30 is two. Same pouch holds more reloads.
- 3Level 1 helmet (~$200) and Level 1 armor (~$400)
T1/T2 armor is the first real survivability jump. Skip T3/T4 until you have banked cash.
- 4Small tac vest + free Pouch
Fill the pouch: spare loaded 20-round mags first, then one bandage stack.
- 5Binoculars in the specialist slot (~$75)
Spotting and marking pays, including vehicle marks. Do not leave the slot empty.
BT-21 Kit Buy Order
- 1T-21 (~$600) + default FMJ mags
Learn on FMJ. Save HP/AP until you know if the fight is flesh or plates.
- 2Level 1 helmet + Level 1-2 armor
Do not dump $2,000 into Level 3 on life one if that leaves you with no rebuy.
- 3Light vest, small pack, bandages, smokes if leftover
- 4Optional cheap sidearm only if cash is still high
After armor and ammo.
Key Decisions
| Decision | Pick |
|---|---|
| Close buildings / Hot Zone interior | AMP-9. Medic track. |
| Open approaches, 100-250 m | T-21. Assault track. |
| Died twice, cash is thin | Free faction rifle + pistol + bandages. Survive, do not ego-buy. |
| Armor vs better gun | Armor first after a usable gun. The gap between T-21 and a $2,800 M4 is tiny. The gap between no armor and T1/T2 is extra shots you survive. |
| Weight | Stay Light-Medium so you can tac sprint. Heavy starter kits die on the walk in. |
| Ammo type | FMJ to learn. Flesh/HP for AMP-9 vs unarmored. AP when you see Level 2+ plates on a rifle. |
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Spending the entire $10k on one life. Opening money is three cheap kits, not one rich kit.
- Overstocking bandages at vendor prices. Loot them in the field instead.
- 30-round AMP-9 mags in a tiny pouch. You carry fewer reloads. Use 20-round mags.
- Level 3/4 plates before you can rebuy. Mobility tax plus wipe risk.
- Skipping binoculars. Cheap slot, real cash if spots get killed. Mark vehicles too.
- Buying Galil, M4, or FAL on life one. Galil is strong value once unlocked (Assault 10), not a starter purchase.
- Solo main-street runs. Two cheap deaths and you are on the free rifle for the rest of the night.
