The Blood of Dawnwalker Brencis Lieutenants
Max each boyar's Anger through Court activities to unlock and fight Ambrus, Bakir, and Xanthe before Brencis. Taking them down weakens the finale and unlocks blood and soul options. Here is the order, the activities, and the decisions players argue about.
Core goal: Max each boyar's Anger so you can fight Ambrus, Bakir, and Xanthe before Brencis. You do not need all 41 Court activities, just enough to fill that boyar's Anger bar. Recommended order from players who finished it: Ambrus, then Bakir, then Xanthe, so levels match the regions.
1How the Court Actually Works
Open the Court tab. Each boyar has question-mark activities in their territory. Doing them raises Anger. At max Anger their boss quest appears.
2Ambrus First (Easiest, Earliest)
His region is tuned low. Players treat him as the tutorial boyar.
-
1
Smash his marked camps, transports, leech collectors, blood cellars, and dungeons until Anger is full
Blood cellars players found: Seeing Red near Erie Knoll Shrine, Uninvited near Tyna's Grove Tower, and Trouble Brewing in a house in Svartrau.
-
2
Go to Maragir in the Maragir Wealds when Anger is maxed
A crucifixion in the village is the trigger. If the quest does not pop after a full bar, visit Maragir anyway. Players thought they were bugged until they walked into town.
-
3
That starts The Gilded Gauntlet. Fight him in night form
Night form is what people use for all three lieutenant fights.
3Bakir Second (Level 20+)
-
1
Hit his rebel hunters, payoff transports, distilleries, and the three pillories
Out of Love, Familiar Face, and Old Hand. Add A Mother's Plea if you find Uriash village.
-
2
Max Anger and wait for his jester Farkas to approach
Farkas sends you to Bakir's tournament. That quest is The Lunar Game.
-
3
Fight him at night. Watch the close-range flurries
Do not stand in them. Loot the Lunar Manor treasury after the fight.
4Xanthe Last (Level 25+) - Do Not Skip This Warning
-
1
Run her recruiters, digsites, abducted-girl activities, artefact transports, mentors, and the hidden Home Sweet Home
Max Anger to trigger The Cycle of Love.
-
2
Fight her properly with witchcraft and tendrils
Do not facetank her spells.
-
3
After the fight she bargains. Spare her if you want the finale help
You can still drain for Blood Surge, then choose whether to invite her soul in Anachora. She can lie about stopping the kidnappings. Players still spare her for the castle utility.
5Key Decisions
| Choice | What players report |
|---|---|
| Order | Ambrus, Bakir, Xanthe so levels match the regions |
| Drain vs kill | Drain for unique night powers. Invite souls so they show up in the Anachora phase versus Brencis (Ambrus slice, Bakir kick, Xanthe tendrils) |
| Spare Xanthe | Yes, if you want her help at Greifberg. Early cathedral kill means no deal |
| Ally Ambrus or Bakir | You cannot. Only Xanthe has a real spare and ally path |
| All 41 activities | No. Cap Anger per boyar and move on. Time is the real boss |
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Sitting on max Ambrus Anger and never entering Maragir. The crucifixion in the village is the quest trigger. Go there.
- Roof-killing Xanthe on night 1 to 8. It locks you out of sparing her and her finale help. Do her Court activities and fight properly.
- Doing every Court node instead of capping one boyar at a time. Infamy edicts stack and the 30-day clock runs. Cap Anger, trigger the quest, move on.
- Fighting these bosses in human form. Night form is what players call the fight. Switch before you engage.
- Killing instead of draining, then regretting the missing power. Drain gives unique night powers. Souls invited to Anachora show up versus Brencis.
- Assuming you can roam after the Brencis ending. Beating him ends the game. Do your exploring and looting first.
