Neverness to Everness DPS

Shinku Full Build Guide

Shinku is a Wrath-based DPS who builds stacks through normals, skills, and charged attacks, then unleashes Runaway mode for enhanced combos and a massive AoE Light damage finisher. She needs proper support cycling and Gaze stack management to reach her damage ceiling.

Kit Overview

Wrath Built via normals, skills, and charged attacks. The core resource that powers her entire kit.
Ult Consumes Wrath to enter Runaway mode with enhanced combos, aerial attacks, and a strong finisher AoE Light damage burst.
Passive Energy given to the active character also goes to off-field teammates, enabling quick support cycling.
Gaze Stacks for big instant damage and cycle help. A0 caps at 8 stacks, needs time off-field or dodges to build. A4 raises cap to 16.

Recommended Teams

Team Requirements

Shinku needs Anima (for Blossom) and Lakshana (for Remora) supports plus a quick cycler. Without proper support cycling, she cannot sustain Runaway mode effectively.

Strongest Shinku + Nanally + Skia + Zero
Shinku (DPS) / Nanally (Anima Blossom) / Skia (Lakshana Remora extension) / Zero (quick cycler and Ult)
Nanally's frequent attacks speed up Blossom for max charged procs. Skia preferred over Hathor for longer Remora plus ATK buff.
Alternative Shinku + Skia + Mint + Zero
Shinku (DPS) / Skia (Lakshana) / Mint (support) / Zero (cycler)
Also viable: Shinku + Skia + Jiuyuan + Zero. Skia provides longer Remora and ATK buff.
F2P Shinku + MC + Skia + Mint
Shinku (DPS) / MC (free support) / Skia (Lakshana) / Mint (support)
Janky but workable until you get Iroi or Nanally. Iroi is expected to replace Nanally later.

Rotation Steps

When to Start

Begin the rotation once Shinku's gauge hits 100%. Supports cycle first to fill energy and procs, then Shinku enters Runaway for maximum damage.

1
Support cycle
Haythor (or equivalent) Ult then Skill. Zero Ult then Skill. Nanally Ult then Skill. Nanally triggers Blossom fast to set up Shinku's charged procs.
2
Swap to Shinku and pop Ult
Swap to Shinku and pop Ult immediately to enter Runaway mode with full procs from the support cycle.
3
Spam enhanced skills and basics
In Runaway mode, spam enhanced skills and basics to hit all 5 Super Skills. Maximize damage output during the timer window.
4
Finish with dash attacks and laser
With about 2 seconds left on the timer, burn 3 Ultimate Dash attacks, then unleash the finisher Ultimate Laser for massive AoE Light damage.
5
Build Gaze and repeat
Build Gaze via dodges and normal play between rotations. At A0, many advise a short aura-farm (dodge without attacking for stacks) before big hits, especially the first rotation in BtR.

Gear and Build

Arc / Weapon
Signature: Blushing Mirage (CRIT + ATK). F2P option: A Time Will Come.
Cartridge
Lost Radiance (S) with Cosmos DMG% main stat. Substats: CRIT Rate, CRIT DMG, ATK%, Universal DMG%.
Skill Priority
Ult > Basic Attack > Skill. Ult and basics are the core damage sources in Runaway mode.
Awakening A1
DEF ignore. Strong for damage but not the top comfort priority.
Awakening A3
Most recommended for comfort. Gaze stacks persist off-field and on swap. Eliminates the clunky stack loss when switching characters.
Awakening A4
High priority. Raises Gaze cap to 16 and strengthens effects. Enables insta-cycle and pre-stacking for burst rotations.
Awakening A5
Tankiness and healing. Strong for survivability in longer fights.
05

Key Decision Points

Which Awakening to prioritize?
A3 and A4 are most recommended for comfort and damage. A3 makes Gaze stacks persist off-field, eliminating clunky swap losses. A4 raises the Gaze cap to 16 and enables pre-stacking. At A0, many feel the character is clunky, so farm dupes or use A3/A4 selectively (pre-stack to 16 then switch).
Missing Nanally or support characters?
Use the selector or pull for Nanally or Hathor/Skia equivalents if missing supports. Iroi is expected to replace Nanally later. For F2P, run Shinku + MC + Skia + Mint until you get better options.
How to handle the first rotation in BtR?
Pre-stack Gaze if possible before entering Runaway. At A0, do a short aura-farm (dodge without attacking) to build stacks before the big burst. With A4, pre-stack to 16 then switch to Shinku for insta-cycle.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

! Spamming attacks without dodging or building Gaze. This leads to low cycle speed and damage. Build Gaze stacks through dodges and off-field time before big bursts.
! Ignoring supports for reactions. Without proper Anima and Lakshana support cycling, Shinku cannot sustain Runaway mode. Always cycle supports before swapping to Shinku.
! Poor first rotation timing in BtR. Pre-stack Gaze if possible before the first big rotation. Rushing in without stacks significantly reduces damage.
! Over-relying on swaps without A3. Without A3, swapping loses Gaze stacks. Either invest in A3 or minimize swaps during combat.
! Not using her exploration sprint. Shinku has stamina tricks with freezes for exploration. Use them for QoL outside of combat.
