Diablo 4 Season 14: How to Gear Up for Torment 12

Players keep hitting a wall in T6-T10 because they burn materials on the wrong upgrades. This guide covers the exact progression path from fresh 70 to T12-ready, using Cube crafting, tempering order, and Warplan priorities.

T1 to T12 Full Progression Season 14 Death's Awakening All Classes Applicable

The Core Problem

Raw drops alone will not carry you to T12. Players get stuck between T6 and T10 because they either upgrade too early (wasting scarce Tuning Prisms on gear they will replace in two hours), or too late (grinding the same Torment tier long past the point of diminishing returns). The goal is targeted crafting via the Cube / Horadric system, not hoping for a perfect Legendary drop.

Key Principle

Paragon Legendary nodes first, Glyphs second, gear third. Most players invert this order. Rushing Legendary nodes gives the biggest power spike per time invested early on.

Phase-by-Phase Gearing Path

1 Early Game: T1-T4 (Fresh 70, Paragon 1-100)

Establish your build foundation

Do not over-invest in any single piece. Gear replaces constantly at this stage. Focus on speed and Paragon board rushes to Legendary nodes.

  • Salvage Legendaries for Aspects - no dungeon farming needed. The Merc hideout trader sells Aspect caches after Merc level 10.
  • Imprint key Aspects on the best yellows or rares you find. Focus main damage stat + one survivability affix. Nothing else yet.
  • Warplan priority: Pits (glyph XP) then Helltides (materials + loot). Target Pit 25 clearable in around 3 minutes to advance Torment tiers.
  • Cube use: Start basic. Add one affix on Ancestral magic or rare items with a Greater Affix (GA), then convert to Legendary. Use Tuning Prisms from the Offensive or Defensive category matching your build.
  • Collect Unique Charms as you find them. Do not fuse yet - save for T6+.
  • Loot filter: Enable filtering for Ancestral items only. Turn off normal item pickups entirely.
2 Mid Game: T6+ (Paragon 50-150)

Start targeted Cube crafting

You now have enough materials to be selective. Farm Lair Bosses for Uniques - their stats are now randomized, so farm multiples until you get a roll that synergizes with your build. You do not need BiS rolls here.

  • Cube aggressively on GA bases: Add the affix you need (offensive Prism for damage multipliers), delete a bad roll (last-added affix deletes first), then convert to Legendary and imprint your Aspect.
  • Socket all items with appropriate gems and runes before moving on.
  • Light tempering only: 2-3 temper rolls max per item at this stage. Save heavy gambling for T8+.
  • Upgrade to Unique recipe: Use sparingly on high item-level (900+) items only.
  • Glyph push: Get key build Glyphs to level 36+ during this phase. Pit 60 in 3 minutes is the next target.
  • Transition build variant: Move from your leveling setup to the mid-endgame skill layout as gear allows.
3 Endgame: T8-T12 Push (Paragon 150+)

Refine and lock in your setup

Stop replacing pieces unless something significantly better drops. Refine what you have in strict order: Masterwork first, then full Tempering, then Enchanting, then Transfiguration last.

  • Masterwork your best pieces before anything else. Masterworking multiplies value of every subsequent upgrade on that item.
  • Temper fully on Masterworked items. Now is when heavy gambling on GA tempers is worth the material cost.
  • Enchant to reroll one bad affix after Masterwork and Temper are done.
  • Transfiguration last: Adds or modifies a GA affix but often locks the item from further modification. Never Transfigure before Masterworking and socketing.
  • Fuse Charms and Seals for set bonuses. Target 2-3 active set bonuses.
  • Farm Mythic Tributes from high-Torment Warplans for big power spikes. Save them for perks with strong synergy (e.g., Portal Prankster if available for your build).
  • Glyphs to 51+: Final priority once gear is mostly locked in.
Speed Check

At every Torment tier, your benchmark is clearing Pit at that tier's difficulty in under 3 minutes. Speedrunning T10 consistently beats slow-clearing T12. Do not push to a higher Torment until you meet that time.

Crafting Order Reference

System When to Use Do It Now?
Cube - Add Affix Any phase, on GA bases with a useful roll T1+
Imprint Aspect After Cube conversion - locking in your build Aspect T1+
Socketing Before any Tempering or Enchanting T1+
Light Tempering 2-3 rolls on items you plan to keep a while T6+
Masterworking Once you have your BiS or near-BiS base T8+
Heavy Tempering After Masterworking - GA temper gambling T8+
Enchanting After Masterwork + Temper are done T8+
Transfiguration Absolute last step - often makes item unmodifiable T10+ Only
Charm / Seal Fusion When you have 2-3 matching set pieces T6+
