Build Comparison

Phase 1 - Leveling to 60 (Minion First)

   Skill priority: Raise Skeleton + Corpse Explosion

   Start Reapers for AoE and corpse generation. Add Corpse Tendrils for CC, Blood Mist for mobility and survival. Army of the Dead for boss burst windows.

   Prioritize attack speed on gloves, +skills on amulet and rings. Grab Shademist Aspect and basic corpse/mist aspects from the codex. Stack Intelligence and Darkness/Corruption damage wherever possible.

   Playstyle: let minions tank, you generate corpses

   Spam Blight for corpse ticks, let minions proc effects. Focus Helltides and campaign for fast leveling. Many players report easy T4 access with this approach.

   Unlock boss powers as you progress

   Flesh Reaper + Varshan + Vampiric Curse combination is the endgame target. Unlock and equip each as they become available. These three together enable the Boss Power Minion loop.

Phase 2 - Boss Power Minion Endgame Setup

   Equip the three boss powers: Flesh Reaper + Varshan + Vampiric Curse

   These run simultaneously. Flesh Reaper procs on kill. Varshan applies Vulnerable. Vampiric Curse adds DoT. Together they create a permanent proc loop as long as minions are attacking.

   Gear stats priority: attack speed first, then damage types

   Target 70%+ attack speed total. Then stack: total damage, Darkness damage, Corruption damage, Vulnerable damage. Avoid overbuilding pure summon damage or crit - procs rely on hit frequency, not crit multipliers.

   Paragon board: Wither first

   Start with Wither, then Blood Begets Blood, Flesh Eater, Frailty. Glyphs: Abyssal, Amplify, Deadraiser, Exploit. Follow community planner boards (search "Season 8 Necromancer Minion Paragon" for exact layouts).

   Rotation: Blight spam + passive minion procs

   Cast Blight continuously for tick damage and corpse generation. Let minions proc boss powers on every hit. Use Blood Mist for CC-break and survival. For bosses, kill adds first to generate corpse resources.

Blood Wave Alternative (Pit 90+ Push)

   Farm Kessime's Legacy first

   This unique enables the Blood Wave spam loop. Without it, the build does not perform at its ceiling. Farm boss encounters until it drops before committing to this path.

   Add Fastblood Aspect + wave-supporting aspects

   Fastblood reduces cooldown on consecutive wave casts. Stack wave aspects that increase size, damage, and cooldown reduction. Tank stats (HP, armor, resistances) are important - Blood Wave wants you alive for sustained casts.

   Support skills: Sever, Hemorrhage, Iron Maiden, Bone Prison

   Sever and Hemorrhage for resource generation. Iron Maiden for damage reflection on tough elites. Bone Prison to lock down bosses while waves hit continuously.

   Rotation: wave clear packs, Blood Mist between rotations

   Cast Blood Wave into packs for massive AoE. Use Blood Mist for invulnerability during dangerous boss mechanics. Very tanky playstyle - you can facetank most content.

Key Decision Points

Common Mistakes to Avoid

• Ignoring attack speed - boss power procs trigger on hits. Low attack speed means fewer procs and massively reduced damage, regardless of other stats.
• Building pure summon damage or crit/overpower multipliers instead of total damage, Darkness, Corruption, and Vulnerable damage - wrong stat priorities kill the build.
• Using Blood Mist only as an escape - it also breaks CC and resets threat. Use it proactively in boss fights, not only when nearly dead.
• Neglecting single-target on the Minion build - swap to Skirmisher skeletons for bosses, and kill adds first to ensure corpse resources for Explosion.
• Attempting Blood Wave before farming Kessime's Legacy - without the unique the build is significantly weaker and not worth the full commitment.
