Big Ambitions Office Workers Kicked After HQ Move

After moving HQ, purchasing agents, logistics managers, and HR managers get unassigned from their desks. Importer contracts, warehouse drops, and delivery quantities vanish. Here is how to move without losing your plans.

#1 scaling complaint Moving company fix Copy BizMan settings
The core problem: After you move HQ or use an installation firm to copy the office, every HQ worker gets unassigned from their workstation and all BizMan plans reset. Businesses immediately go red because nothing is being ordered or delivered. The game does have a way to keep the plans, if you use the right service and tick the right box.
Fix Sequence

Steps That Work Right Now

1
Do not use the Interior Installation Firm to "copy" your current HQ. Multiple players report that the moment the new office finishes, every HQ worker is unassigned and all BizMan plans reset. Treat this as a last-resort layout tool only.
2
Go to the moving company (Lower Manhattan, near the map corner). This is the official relocation service that has existed since EA 0.6.
3
When you place the move order, tick "Copy BizMan settings." The developer confirmed this is the option that copies purchasing contracts, logistics routes and quantities, and HR assignments to the new building. Skip the checkbox and you start from zero.
4
After the move completes: Walk the new office. Furniture will be dumped in a mess, rearrange desks, chairs, and computers so every workstation is complete (desk + chair + computer). Open the employee roster, filter to the old HQ location, multi-select staff, and assign them to the new building. Because plans now persist even when an employee is unassigned, the contracts and drops should still be there.
5
Open each manager's computer and quickly verify the importer contracts and drop lists. Fix any that didn't copy.
If you already lost the plans: Re-assign the same employees to any complete workstation in the new office. Re-call the importers and re-build the daily orders (keep a screenshot of quantities next time). Re-link logistics managers to warehouses and re-enter the drop quantities. This is the painful part players hate, hence using the mover with the checkbox next time.
Decision Points

Key Choices

Second HQ vs One Big Move?

If you only need a few extra desks, open a second small HQ and leave the original crew untouched. Plans stay intact. Only consolidate when you are ready to pay the mover and tick the copy box.

Layout First or Staff First?

Finish the new office furniture before you assign anyone. An incomplete workstation (missing computer or chair) will kick the employee again.

Workshop Layouts and Mods

Players who used custom workshop blueprints reported even worse furniture chaos after a mover job. Expect to rebuild the floor plan by hand.

Weekend Shifts

HQ desks do not work weekends. Do not assign HQ staff to weekend shifts, they will appear unassigned when you check on Monday.

Common Mistakes

What Not to Do

x
Moving staff one-by-one in the roster without using the mover service. This is the old method that wiped plans.
x
Forgetting the "Copy BizMan settings" checkbox. This is the single most important tick during the move.
x
Using the installation firm thinking it is the same as the mover. It is not. The installation firm copies layout but resets plans.
x
Assigning HQ staff to weekend shifts. HQ desks do not work weekends.
x
Closing the old office before confirming the new one has working workstations and copied plans.
