Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord Cheats
Bannerlord ships with a built-in cheat mode — no mods needed. Flip it on and you get map teleport, instant knockouts, healing and a full command console, including the new War Sails naval commands.
Fastest method: press Alt + ` in-game to open the console and type config.cheat_mode 1. Done — hotkeys and commands work immediately. The config-file method below does the same thing permanently.
Two ways to enable cheats
- 1In-game console (fastest)
Press
Alt+`(the tilde key, top-left of most keyboards) to open the developer console, then typeconfig.cheat_mode 1. Useconfig.cheat_mode 0to switch it off. - 2Config file (permanent)
Open
Documents > Mount and Blade II Bannerlord > Configs > engine_config.txt, findcheat_mode = 0and change it tocheat_mode = 1. Save, then launch the game — it works on existing campaign saves. - 3On console (PlayStation / Xbox)
Pause the game, open Campaign Options and scroll to the bottom for the
Open Cheat Menubutton. The list is shorter than PC but covers the useful boosts.
Cheat hotkeys
These work as soon as cheat mode is on — no console needed.
| Input | Effect | Where |
|---|---|---|
Ctrl + Left-Click | Teleport to where you click | Campaign map |
Ctrl + Alt + T | Reveal all parties on the map | Campaign map |
Ctrl + H | Heal yourself to full | In battle |
Ctrl + Shift + H | Heal your horse to full | In battle |
Ctrl + F4 | Knock out the enemy you're looking at | In battle |
Ctrl + Alt + F4 | Knock out the entire enemy army | In battle |
Ctrl + F2 | Knock out one of your own troops | In battle |
Ctrl + F3 | Knock yourself out | In battle |
Ctrl + Shift + F3 | Knock out your horse | In battle |
Ctrl + F9 | Toggle slow motion | In battle |
Careful with Ctrl + Alt + F4: it contains Alt + F4 — on some setups the OS grabs it first and tries to close the game. Bind nothing critical to it and save before spamming it in long fights.

FAQ
Do Bannerlord cheats disable achievements?
Cheat mode is a developer sandbox feature, but play it safe — experiment on a spare save. Some players report crashes after long cheat sessions on the campaign map.
Do cheats work on an existing save?
Yes — enabling cheat mode via the console or engine_config.txt works on ongoing campaigns, no new save required.
How do I turn cheats off?
Run config.cheat_mode 0 in the console, or revert the engine_config.txt line back to cheat_mode = 0.
Is there a cheat for War Sails ships?
Yes — the naval.* commands added with the DLC: naval.add_ship_to_player spawns a ship and naval.unlock_figurehead unlocks cosmetics.
Why does cheat mode crash my game sometimes?
Teleport-spamming and mass knockouts stress the campaign map. Use cheats in short bursts and keep a manual save before experimenting.
