Geometry Dash Update 2.209
The surprise 2.2 sub-update RobTop pushed out — a quality-of-life and editor-features patch on Steam and mobile. Here's every confirmed change, plus what it did to mods.
Short version: 2.209 adds platformer checkpoints/saving, custom keybinds, death markers, editor sound packs, level import/export and social upgrades. Great for creators — but it temporarily broke Geode and most mods.
Gameplay changes
Platformer saving
Platformer-mode levels now save progress — long maps no longer demand one sitting.
Custom keybinds
Remap controls freely, including separate platformer controls.
Death tracking
The game records where you die and can show death markers on the level path — practice feedback built in.
Replay dailies
Daily, weekly and event levels can be replayed for rewards instead of being one-and-done.
Start Pos switcher
Swap between placed start positions without re-entering the editor.
Editor changes
Sound effects & packs
Editor SFX support plus sound packs — levels can ship custom audio design.
Import / export levels
Move editor levels between devices or share them as files.
Auto-save & backup
Editor progress saves itself — crash losses mostly gone.
Group ID names
Name your group IDs instead of memorizing numbers — huge for complex levels.
Editor UI overhaul
Improved layout, better SFX browser, pinch controls.
