Fake copies exist. A second upload using the same name appeared shortly after launch (some users report it charging $20). Only trust the listing where the asset ID is 86116556258301 and the creator reads @riftkuro with a verification badge. There is no off-store "Eclipse Animator download" file — anyone offering an .exe, Discord link or Google Drive copy is not from the developers.

Price: is Eclipse Animator free?

How to install Eclipse Animator

The store listing is the install — there is no separate download. Sign in with the account you animate on.

  1. 1
    Open the official listing

Go to the Creator Store page for asset 86116556258301. Confirm the creator line says @riftkuro — the listing's display name has changed more than once, so the ID is what matters.

  2. 2
    Buy / Get the plugin

Click Buy (or Get while priced at $0). The plugin is added to your Roblox inventory instantly.

  3. 3
Open Roblox Studio → Plugins tab

If Studio was already running, restart it. Find Eclipse Animator in the Plugins toolbar and click it to load the panel, or press Ctrl + E. Approve the script permissions it needs for IK calculations.

  4. 4
    Insert a rig and animate

Drop in an R15 or R6 rig, create a project, and press V to place your first keyframe. The built-in tutorial covers the rest.

Headline features

The plugin is still very new — the developers ship fixes almost daily, so expect the feature list to keep growing.

IK & rig tools

Inverse kinematics toggle, unparenting, dynamic parenter, bone pivot editing, motion paths and physics for R15, R6 and skinned rigs.

Editor workflow

Graph editor, animation layers, grease pencil, a pose/animation/face library, presets and gif background support.

Camera & preview

Live camera previewer, video previewer that syncs references to your timeline, and Blender-style camera controls.

Blender pipeline

Import Blender armatures, Blender tools and gizmos, and export animations both directions (Blender ↔ Eclipse).

Live collaboration

Animate the same scene with friends in real time — a feature Moon Animator never shipped.

Module exporter

Converts finished animations and cutscenes into scriptable module files you can play in-game.

Eclipse Animator vs Moon Animator 2

The question everyone asks. The short version below — pick based on workflow, not hype.

Eclipse AnimatorMoon Animator 2
Price$19.99 (free launch window ended)Paid, similar range
Blender-style toolsGizmos, armature import, two-way exportLimited
CollaborationLive multi-user animatingSolo only
MaturityBrand new (Oct 2026), frequent bugs + daily fixesYears of updates, stable, huge tutorial base

Reality check: Eclipse is promising but the developers themselves call it "VERY new." If you animate for clients or deadlines, keep Moon Animator installed while Eclipse stabilizes — most early adopters run both.

FAQ

I bought it but don't see it in Studio

Restart Studio on the same Roblox account, then check the Plugins tab and Plugin Management. If it still doesn't appear, verify the purchase went to the right account in your inventory.

Is there a free version or trial?

No trial exists. The only free period was the unannounced launch window in mid-October. Sites selling or giving "Eclipse Animator free" copies are distributing fakes — the creators publicly warned about a copycat upload.

Does it work with custom rigs?

Yes — it supports R15, R6 and skinned rigs, and can import armatures straight from Blender files.

Is it related to the Eclipse IDE?

Not at all — same name, different universe. This is strictly a Roblox Studio plugin.
