Azeroth Survivors
A free fan-made survivors roguelike set in the World of Warcraft world — pick a race, a class and a zone, then hold out against waves of the creatures that live there. Your spells cast themselves; your job is to keep moving and pick the right upgrade cards.
Getting "Too many people are playing"? The game's host limits daily requests when traffic spikes. Wait a few minutes and retry — or grab the free Windows download linked on the same page, which runs without the browser limit.
Before you play: the WebGPU requirement
Azeroth Survivors draws the whole 3D world with WebGPU, a modern graphics API. If your browser doesn't have it, the game says so rather than showing a black screen.
| Browser | Status |
|---|---|
| Chrome / Edge (desktop) | Works out of the box on current versions — WebGPU is on by default |
| Safari 26+ | Works — update macOS and Safari if you see the WebGPU warning |
| Firefox | Needs the WebGPU flag enabled manually |
| Chrome on Linux | May need chrome://flags/#enable-unsafe-webgpu |
| Phones / tablets | Not a good fit — the game wants a desktop browser, keyboard and mouse |
Controls
| Key | Action |
|---|---|
| W A S D | Move — your spells fire on their own |
| 1 2 3 | Pick an upgrade card on level-up |
| Space | Jump |
| F | Movement spell |
| R | Reroll card choices |
| Esc | Pause |
| Enter | Start |
Know before you play
First load is slow — once
The client gathers the whole world before the first frame, which can take a couple of minutes on a slow connection. The browser keeps it cached, so every visit after opens fast.
Saves live in your browser
No account, no cloud — progress is local. Export a .sav backup from Options → Saves before switching browsers or clearing site data.
Daily player cap
When the host's daily limit hits, the page tells you it's too busy and offers the Discord and Windows build instead. Peak hours fill it fastest.
Under the hood
A from-scratch Warcraft 1.12.1 client engine — the open-source benilla project — written in Rust with Bevy and compiled to WebAssembly. The whole run happens on your machine.
Class and build picks
Nine classes across nine zones with eight races, each level offering three rarity-coloured cards. For picks and rankings, see our Azeroth Survivors tier list.
Windows fallback
A free Windows build is linked on the game's own page — same game, no browser cap, the option for anyone stuck on the daily limit or on a browser without WebGPU.
FAQ
Is Azeroth Survivors free?
Completely free — no account, no login, no payment. It's a fan project by Aethus, not affiliated with Blizzard.
Where can I play Azeroth Survivors?
On the official Azeroth Survivors website in your browser — no download, but you need WebGPU. When the official realm is at capacity, the only real alternative is running your own offline copy from the open-source build on GitHub.
Is this the World of Warcraft browser game people are talking about?
Yes — if you searched for a WoW online game or a World of Warcraft browser game, this fan-made survivors roguelike is almost certainly what you meant. Official World of Warcraft itself has no browser version.
Are there addons for Azeroth Survivors?
No. The hosted game has no addon support — there is nothing to install. The engine it runs on reads WoW 1.12.1 data, but the survivors mode exposes no addon API.
Is it the same as WoW Survivors or Warcraft Survivors?
Yes — players call it all three. It first spread through a launch thread on r/wowservers.
Is it like Vampire Survivors?
Same loop — move, auto-attack, level up, survive — but set in a Warcraft zone full of its own creatures. It has no connection to Vampire Survivors itself.
Does progress save?
Yes, in your browser's local storage. There's no cloud sync — export a .sav file from Options → Saves before switching browsers or machines.
