Super Battle Golf: Desert 1 Showdown Hole-in-One
Land a hole-in-one on Desert 1 Showdown with the 51 to 52 degree aim method at full power. The community consensus method that is repeatable instead of hope and pray.
Core goal: Land a hole-in-one on Desert 1 Showdown on the first swing, usually for the A Cut Above achievement. The community consensus is this hole is the easy ace if you use a two-step aim: 51 degrees to line up, 52 degrees to shoot, at full power. People arguing about 51 vs 52 is the number one miss.
1Setup Before You Swing
-
1
Play Solo or a private lobby with only Desert 1 Showdown queued
Crowded public lobbies knock your ball and waste attempts. Solo or private is the way to practice.
-
2
Turn wind off if the lobby settings allow it
Players who leave wind on report the same 52 degree full power line suddenly sailing long or short. Wind off is the consistent setup.
-
3
Use mouse for fine angles, not controller presets
Fine angles are scroll-wheel, not the 0, 10, 45, 60 presets. On controller, bind Increase and Decrease Pitch to D-pad so you can hit 51 and 52 exactly.
-
4
Pick a clean tee box
Far-left is slightly more discussed as clean, but the alignment method matters more than spawn. If one tee box feels cursed, exit to lobby and reload rather than forcing it.
2The Exact Shot
-
1
Aim at 51 degrees, ignore power
Hold aim (right mouse button). Scroll to 51 degrees. Point straight at the pin.
-
2
Center the flag on the power bar
At 51 degrees, slide your aim until the flag icon sits dead-center in the middle of the power and aim bar. Players treat this as the real alignment, not "looks pointed at the hole." This is why 51 degrees exists in the routine: it is the lining-up angle.
-
3
Nudge to 52 degrees. Do not re-aim left or right
Scroll one degree up to 52 degrees. Do not recenter after this. At 52 degrees the flag may disappear from the power bar. That is expected, not a sign you aimed wrong. The extra degree gives the loft and distance so the ball drops in instead of landing short or bouncing over.
-
4
100% power, release clean
Full charge, no fade. Full power is what people call consistent because a 100% meter is easier to repeat than 93-96%. If it goes in, you are done. If it lips or flies long or short by a hair, do not start inventing new numbers on the same spawn. Reload the hole.
3Key Decisions You Will Face
4Alternative Angles
-
1
49 degrees at approximately 93% power
Worse for consistency because partial power is harder to repeat. Use only after the main method fails several times.
-
2
50 degrees at approximately 95-96% power
Same issue: partial power is less repeatable than full power.
-
3
28 degrees at 100% power
Lower flight, sinks without a big bounce. Some players prefer this line.
-
4
19 degrees at 100% power
Can bounce in but is less reliable if another ball is near the cup. Use as a last resort.
5Common Mistakes to Avoid
-
Shooting at 51 degrees and 100% because the flag is visible in the bar. That visual is the aim cue, not the fire cue. Nudge to 52 first.
-
Re-adjusting left or right after going to 52 degrees. The nudge is one degree up only. Do not touch horizontal aim after the 51 degree centering.
-
Using hold-R retry and wondering why the achievement did not pop. A reset shot may not count. Leave to lobby and start a fresh hole.
-
Practicing in a full public lobby. Other players knock your ball and waste attempts. Use Solo or private.
-
Leaving wind on. Wind makes the same 52 degree full power line sail long or short. Turn it off in lobby settings.
-
Assuming every tee box uses identical numbers with sloppy aim. The method is about consistent alignment, not memorizing one angle. Center the flag at 51 every time.
