OSRS Moons of Peril: Eclipse, Blue & Blood Moon Guide
Efficiently farm the Moons of Peril in Neypotzli with zero supply cost. Dharok's setup, boss mechanics, optimal loop order, and common mistakes for Eclipse, Blue, and Blood Moon.
What This Guide Covers
The Moons of Peril are three bosses in Neypotzli (Eclipse Moon, Blue Moon, Blood Moon) that drop unique Moon armour sets and weapons. Players want fast KPH loops using in-dungeon resources, reliable boss mechanics to minimize food and prayer use, and ways to handle Blood Moon's healing and Eclipse's phases without dying or wasting time.
Prep & Setup
-
Enter Neypotzli
After completing the Perilous Moons quest, head to the NE dungeon/camp area first. Grab: butterfly net (if below 85 Hunter), rope, pestle & mortar, vials of water from crates. Catch Moonlight Moths for prayer restore.
-
Gather supplies on-site (zero cost runs)
Fish and cook Bream or Moss lizards for quick heal food. Crush Moonlight grubs + water vials to make Moonlight potions (Super Attack/Strength, Divine Super Defence, Super Restore combo). Top up between bosses. Use moths for prayer. Make tea for run energy.
-
Recommended gear: Full Dharok's
Best for DPS and Eclipse shadow phase skip. Swap attack styles: Slash for Blood Moon, Crush for Blue Moon (massive DPS difference). Camp Piety. Alternative: Torag's + Amulet of the Damned for Blood Moon defence. Bring minimal food; many players do full trips eating 0-5 food.
Optimal Boss Loop
Boss Strategies
- Orb Shield special: Stay behind the moving orb (1 tile/tick). Use tile markers for outer edges, run to the "Orb" tile post-phase and DPS.
- Shadows special: Click under spawning shadows to face and parry. Dharok's often overkills to skip this phase entirely.
- Why: Skips save time. Good positioning means consistent 1-2 phase kills.
- Crystals special: Punch the glowing crystal while dodging spikes, then re-equip and DPS on the marked tile.
- Tornadoes special: Run to the marked "Nados" tile and AFK DPS. Heals are negligible.
- Why: Out-DPS the heals easily. Focus on quick crystal break for fast kills.
- Blood Pools special: Avoid pools on the way back to the marked tile.
- Jaguars special: Run to the highlighted jaguar + glyph. Step back 1-2 ticks after pools settle (click behind you, then attack) to avoid damage and boss heals.
- Why: Damage taken = big boss heals (1x/2x/3x min 30). Perfect step-back = near zero heals and fast kills. Defence matters here.
Key Decision Points
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Ignoring the glyph. You take massive damage and the boss heals more without the damage reduction.
- Poor Blood Jaguar timing. The fight drags on from boss self-heals if you don't step back correctly.
- Bad Eclipse shadows. You get a full phase instead of a skip, wasting time.
- Over-relying on brought supplies instead of on-site fishing, cooking, and potions. You waste bank time.
- Wrong boss order. You end up doing extra running between bosses.
