My Hero Academia UNITED SURVIVAL Launch Meta

UNITED SURVIVAL Tier List

The launch meta rewards ranged safety over melee risk. Projectile (投射) and placement (設置) characters dominate because they deal damage from outside the swarm, while melee (近接) requires diving into danger. SS tier is held by multi-hit pierce, wide-area DoT, and sustain picks that scale into long roguelite runs.

How to Read This Tier List

Core Principle

Ranged and placement attacks rank higher than melee because UNITED SURVIVAL is a survivors-like - you're swarmed from every direction. Picks that deal damage while staying safe (pierce, bounce, DoT, wide AoE) outperform melee that has to dive into the pack. Within each tier, SR variants beat their R/N equivalents - invest in SR versions of the same character.

Early Meta Warning

The game launched August 6, 2026. This list reflects the first-week community consensus (Kamigame, Simple Game Guide, Pro Game Guides). Rankings will shift with balance patches and new banners - prioritize the top two tiers and pick for Synchro bonuses, not raw tier alone.

Top 3 Team Compositions

Squad Rule

UNITED SURVIVAL runs 3-character squads. Synchros (team bonuses) are significant - e.g. Midoriya + Uraraka + Iida grants attack speed and HP recovery. Build around one or two SS/S ranged cores, then fill the third slot for a Synchro or a support buffer.

Comp 01
Ranged Projectile Core
CoreMidoriya (or All For One) + Ochaco Uraraka + All Might (or Present Mic)
High consensus for safety/DPS - strong multi-hit/pierce damage, team ATK buffs, sustain, and projectile Synergy/Synchros for consistent clears.
Comp 02
Class 1-A Synchro / Beginner Progression
CoreMidoriya + Uraraka + Iida
Explicit Synchro bonuses (attack speed, HP recovery) + balanced ranged/mobility for early-to-mid game scaling. Best starter squad.
Comp 03
Villain / DoT Placement Mix
CoreShigaraki + Hawks + All For One (or Toga/Dabi flex)
DEF debuffs + laceration/burn DoT + strong ranged/placement for sustained pressure and annihilation.

How to Pick & Build Your Squad

  1. 1
Lead with an SS ranged core. Pick Uraraka, Hawks, Present Mic, or All For One as your damage anchor. They clear swarms safely from outside the pack and scale into long roguelite runs.
  2. 2
Add a Synchro partner. Check your core's Synchro links - Midoriya + Uraraka + Iida is the cleanest beginner triangle. Synchro bonuses (attack speed, HP recovery, ATK up) compound over a run.
  3. 3
Fill the third slot with a buffer or second damage type. All Might (ATK buff), Momo (max HP + CC), or a second SS ranged pick. Avoid stacking three melee - you'll eat too much swarm damage.
  4. 4
Invest in SR variants over R/N. The same character's SR version outclasses its lower-rarity equivalent. Don't sink resources into an R when the SR is available or upcoming.
  5. 5
Prioritize projectile/placement upgrades in the roguelite loop. Pick upgrades that add hits, pierce, DoT, or attack speed to your ranged core - these multiply into swarm clear faster than raw melee damage.

Key Decisions

  • Melee vs Ranged: Only pick a melee lead (Bakugo, Aizawa) if you're confident in positioning. Ranged/placement is the safer default for clearing content and pushing long runs.
  • Todoroki as beginner pick: English beginner lists push Todoroki to S for early AoE/CC and progression. If you're new, he's an excellent first SR even if the long-term Japanese consensus places him A.
  • Synchro vs raw tier: A slightly lower-tier character that completes a strong Synchro can beat a higher-tier pick with no Synchro. Check squad bonuses before finalizing your third slot.
  • Save vs spend on banners: The meta is early and will shift. Don't over-invest in a single SS pick before the first balance patch - keep flexibility for Synchro-driven squads.
06

Common Mistakes

  • Stacking three melee characters. You'll take heavy swarm damage diving into packs. Keep at least two ranged/placement picks.
  • Ignoring Synchros. Raw tier without Synchro bonuses underperforms a coordinated squad. Always check team bonuses.
  • Investing in R/N variants long-term. Lower-rarity versions cap out. Save resources for SR equivalents.
  • Treating the tier list as final. The game launched Aug 6, 2026 - expect balance shifts. Re-check rankings after patches and new banners.
  • Picking a "best" character you can't position. Comfort beats tier on ladder - a well-played A-tier you know beats an SS-tier you can't pilot.
