The goal: get into a working lobby. The only fix players confirmed actually restored joining is a synced console clock - everything else is a reconnect workaround, not a permanent patch. If you ever time-traveled your Switch 2 clock, start there.

1Sync the Switch 2 Clock First

This is the check that fixed "nobody can join me and I can't join anyone" for players who had manually changed their console time.

Clock synced but still kicked? Some players could already join private parties with a synced clock and still got sent back to the main menu from public servers. If that is you, the clock is not your problem - move on to the workarounds below.

2Decide: Private or Public

Playing with people you know
Use a private party
Host or join a private room. This path worked for Switch 2 players on the same nights public search kept kicking them out.
Want random players
Public search is the broken path
Expect empty lists, a soft-lock while searching, AFK hosts, or a drop about halfway through a round with no rejoin.

3If Public Search Is Empty or Soft-Locked

Already tried the obvious: region changes, docked vs handheld, and LAN vs Wi-Fi did not produce a lasting fix for the players who logged those tests.

4If a Join Loads and Then Boots You

A successful-looking join that returns you to the main menu - or a black screen after the intro - is the common public-lobby failure. There is no error text; kicks, host leaving, and network drops all look identical.

5If You Disconnect Mid-Round

Hosting is not a fill guarantee: other players report lobbies nobody joins no matter the room title. Hosting mainly removes the disconnect risk from joining someone else's unstable room.

What Not to Bother With

It is not all broken: some Switch 2 owners, including day-one players, do finish public rounds, and cross-play with PC works once you are past the kicks. The failure is inconsistent - when public keeps failing, private rooms are the reliable fallback.
