Core problem: cartoon suits - especially Animated (X-Men '97) and Marvel Tokon - stay aggressively cel-shaded while everything else is realistic and soaked in blood. They wreck serious cutscenes and rage-heavy combat. The game does not auto-fix this, and in NG+ your chosen suit stays on in almost every scene, which is where most people get burned.

1Decide Your Rule Before You Spend Materials

Why this matters: suits cost 75-300 materials each. Cartoon suits unlock mid-game (Animated at "Way Down Low," Tokon after the arcade in "In the Shadows"). Craft them the second they appear and you will almost certainly wear one into a quiet or brutal scene and regret it.

2Grounded Suits for Story and Heavy Combat

What actually fits the lighting, blood, and tone - keep one equipped as your "story default" and switch before a named story quest, not after the cutscene starts:

Want one "serious yellow"? Use Battle Reborn or Gold Standard, not Animated. Players who expected navy from the marketing say the in-game yellow/black still reads as a real suit.
