No. You cannot play Machine Party alone in the official game. There is no single-player mode, no official bots, and no way to start a match with one person. The game is built as a 2-4 player party experience. That has not changed after v2.0. What is available: Online private rooms (2-4 people), and Local couch co-op on one PC since the v2.0 update (you still need at least two human players on that machine).

Your Four Options

Friends on other PCs
Online private room
Use this if people already own the game. Host creates a room, shares the numeric ID, guests paste it in Join Room.
Friends in the same room
Local couch co-op
Closest thing to "offline." Same screen, same machine, no remote players. Need extra controllers or 3 pads plus keyboard.
Nobody to play with
LFG Discord
Use the official Looking For Group Discord the developers pointed players to. Do not wait for in-game matchmaking, it is not part of the design.
Want to practice alone
Unofficial bot mods only
Community mods on Nexus advertise AI bots (up to 3). Not official, can break after patches. Treat as a last resort, not the intended game.

APlay Online With Friends

If someone cannot join: Host leaves and creates a new room (old IDs die), everyone verifies files in Steam, and one guest tests before the whole group retries.

BCouch Co-op on One PC (Local)

This is what "offline" actually means in community talk: same screen, same machine, no remote players. You do not need a second copy or a second PC.

Steam still launches the game. If Steam itself is fully offline you may not start the title. The session does not need other PCs on the internet, but Steam needs to run.

CYou Bought It and Have Nobody

This is the actual bottleneck, not a hidden solo menu.
