Honkai Star Rail 3.6: Phainon Light Cone and Relic Set
Phainon light cone and relic set in Honkai Star Rail 3.6 - sig or Aeon S5, 4pc Wavestrider Captain, Arcadia or Rutilant planar, ATK vs SPD boots, and the farm order players use.
Core goal: Make Phainon's Territory and meteor window hit as hard as possible with gear you can actually farm now, without wasting resin on 3.6's new sets or the wrong cone. Community consensus is stable: 3.6 did not replace his kit. The new 3.6 cavern sets (World-Remaking Deliverer and Self-Enshrouded Recluse) are memosprite and shielder pieces. Players running Phainon keep saying they do nothing for him. Stay on Wavestrider Captain.
1Light Cone: Pick One and Stop Second-Guessing
Keep it. Mains calcs put it 40 percent or more over a dummy baseline. Base SPD plus DEF ignore plus the post-ult Blazing Sun DMG buff line up with how his enhanced skills and finisher work.
Default F2P or I skipped sig pick. Consistently ranked number 2 in player calcs. High base ATK plus stacking ATK and DMG beats most 4-stars even when the 4-star has a nicer-looking crit line.
Vow's extra 40 percent is not always on. If you cannot keep the condition up, S1 BP wins. If the condition is up, S5 Vow takes 3rd. S5 BP is close enough to Vow that players treat them as a tie.
- 1Have sig: lock it.
- 2No sig: buy or superimpose Aeon from Herta and farm traces instead of hoping for a 4-star miracle.
- 3Don't run random ATK 4-stars over Aeon S5.
Players who tried comfort crit cones (Blue Sky etc.) got told Aeon's raw ATK and DMG still wins.
2Relic Set: Farm This, Not 3.6
2pc: plus 16 percent CRIT DMG. 4pc: each time an ally targets him he gains Help (max 2). When he ults with 2 Help, he spends them for plus 48 percent ATK for 1 turn.
- 1He is constantly targeted by Sunday, Cerydra, Bronya, or Sparkle skills and ults, so Help stacks before the transform.
- 2The ATK buff applies when he casts ult and his Territory turns do not tick that buff down the same way a normal turn does.
Whole meteor window eats the 48 percent ATK.
- 1Scholar Lost in Erudition: acceptable placeholder, slightly worse.
Fine if you already have a cracked set. Don't start a new farm.
- 2Wind-Soaring Valorous: only the finisher is ult DMG.
Enhanced basics and skills are not. 48 percent ATK on everything beats 36 percent ult DMG on the last hit.
- 33.6 World-Remaking Deliverer or Recluse: wrong archetype.
Players explicitly said Phainon wants ATK, not SP, HP, or shield packages.
- 1Arcadia of Woven Dreams: allies leave the field in Territory, so the missing ally DMG stacks go max.
Most common this is his planar answer.
- 2Rutilant Arena: close second if your Arcadia pieces are trash and you already have crit or skill pieces.
3Main Stats and the ATK vs SPD Boots Fork
- 1ATK boots if Cerydra (or similar) already gives him in-combat SPD and you run hyperspeed supports.
Several team posts just say ATK boots on Phainon.
- 2SPD boots if you are on a classic -1 Sunday or Bronya setup and he needs to hold a breakpoint himself.
Often around 134 out of combat, or slightly over supports after buffs.
- 3If both sets of relics are mid: keep whichever piece rolled double crit plus ATK.
Players with bad SPD luck are told to put the SPD tax on Sunday or Bronya (136 or 134) and leave Phainon on ATK.
4Actionable Farm Order
- 1Craft or farm Wavestrider Captain head plus hands first (fixed main stats).
Keep only pieces with CRIT plus ATK. Recycle the rest.
- 2Lock Body, Sphere, and Rope once they have two usable crit lines.
Don't chase a 3.6 domain just in case.
- 3Superimpose Fall of an Aeon while you wait on Captain pieces.
- 4Speed-tune supports on Sacerdos (common Phainon-team answer), not Phainon himself, unless you chose the -1 plan.
- 5Only then min-max planar (Arcadia).
Common Mistakes
- Starting the 3.6 relic cavern for Phainon. The new sets are memosprite and shielder pieces. They do nothing for him.
- Putting Scholar or Valorous on him because he ults a lot. Wavestrider Captain's 48 percent ATK on everything beats 36 percent ult DMG on the last hit.
- SPD boots plus Cerydra's SPD buff stacked until he overcaps and loses ATK for no extra turn.
- Using energy-rope logic from other DPS. His transform is Coreflame or target driven, not ERR-rope driven.
- Chasing a 4-star crit comfort cone instead of finishing Aeon S5. Aeon's raw ATK and DMG still wins.
- Assuming Help stacks fall off inside Territory. They don't tick like a normal turn. The whole meteor window eats the buff.
