Warzone Champions Quest Nuke Guide - How to Get and Complete It

What players struggle with most: Getting the contract in the first place is the biggest gate. Most players fail at the 5-win requirement or don't know about the in-match steal mechanic. Once you have it, the isotope collection and final bomb defense are the two highest-pressure moments where most runs die. This guide focuses on both gates.

1How to Unlock the Champions Quest Contract

Primary

Win 5 Battle Royale games in a row OR accumulate 30 BR wins in the season. Wins must be in core BR modes - Resurgence and casuals do not count toward the full unlock.

Steal

Kill a team doing Champions Quest and extract one of their radioactive elements via a Plunder/extract chopper. The extractor can receive a personal contract. This is the fastest shortcut if you find an active run in your lobby.

Rare

Encrypted device/hard drive airdrop - a special event spawns in some lobbies (community-estimated ~3% per game). First squad to secure and extract it unlocks the contract. Look for alerts and rush it immediately.

Lobby check: Before starting the in-match contract (grabbing the briefcase with the nuke icon), scout the lobby. If it's full of known nuke hunters or the circle is bad, you can back out without burning your attempt.

2Step-by-Step: Completing the Run

Early Setup - Don't Rush the Briefcase

Load up on money, buy contracts, secure vehicles (prioritize multiple LTVs plus a chopper), and get your Specialist upgrade. Wait until late first circle before touching the briefcase.

Starting too early means thin resources and easier third-parties during objectives.

Grab the Briefcase (Nuke Icon on Map)

The briefcase spawns at a specific location marked only for your squad. Pick it up to activate the Champions Quest with a timer. It will be contested - expect enemy squads to rush your position immediately after pickup.

Collect Radioactive Isotopes

Three crash sites (UAV wrecks) appear on your squad's map. Drive to each and search the front of the crashed UAV (about 5 seconds per search). Gas/damage may appear while searching.

Only one of the three sites contains the isotope. The carrier takes periodic damage and has distorted vision. Get them into a vehicle immediately.

Decision: If you've searched two empty sites, the third is guaranteed. Don't open it if enemies are swarming and you risk dying with the isotope - they could steal it. Use vehicle cover and extract to the marked chopper fast.

Complete Subsequent Objectives

After isotopes, the quest gives additional objectives (hard drive recovery, missile/vehicle escort, etc.). Follow map markers. Move as a full squad, use vehicles, avoid unnecessary fights. Expect every other team in the lobby to contest you.

Arm and Defend the Bomb

At the final bomb site, deposit your elements into the canister and arm it. The arming takes time. Once armed, defend the marked location for the full countdown.

Every remaining squad in the lobby will rush to defuse. Hold strong building positions, spread out to cover defuse attempts from multiple angles, and use vehicles to block access routes.

Key: Don't let enemies bait you out of position. Hold your building - rotating outside to chase eliminates your defensive advantage.

3Key Decision Points

Map Choice

Verdansk preferred for Specialist tower + signal station intel (tac map visibility). Avalon gives more setup time but the larger map makes rotations harder. Test Verdansk first.

When to Start

Late first circle only. You need money, multiple vehicles, Specialist, and ideally a Tac Map advantage before touching the briefcase. Rushing it immediately costs lives and resources.

Vehicle Setup

Two LTVs + a chopper minimum. You need the ability to split for objectives and have backup if one vehicle is destroyed. A chopper gets the isotope carrier to extraction fast.

Lobby Scouting

Check who's in your lobby. Back out if it's a lobby full of known nuke hunters or cheaters. A clean lobby matters more than starting fast.

4Common Mistakes to Avoid

Splitting the squad during objectives. Isotope carriers are vulnerable (damaged, marked, vision distorted). Lone carriers die to single teams. Everyone stays together until extraction.

Opening the isotope site while being rushed. If you open it and die, the enemy gets your isotope and potentially your contract. Wait for cover before searching the third site if enemies are close.

Chasing fights instead of completing objectives. Every elimination you chase is time the bomb timer is ticking and other squads are repositioning on you. Objectives first, clean-up second.

Attempting solo or with a weak duo. Community consensus is clear - Champions Quest is nearly impossible without a full coordinated squad. Random squads with no comms fail almost every time at the final defense.

Ignoring current lobby composition. If the lobby has several known nuke-hunting squads, the chance of getting third-partied repeatedly at each objective is very high. A bad lobby wipes more attempts than any individual mistake.
