Wordle — Play Free
Guess the hidden word in six tries. This version has no daily limit — play unlimited rounds back to back, in the browser, with no account.
How to play
Six guesses, one hidden word. The tile colors after each guess tell you what's right.
Green
Right letter in the right spot — lock it in for the next guess.
Yellow
The letter is in the word, but in a different position.
Gray
Not in the word at all — drop it from your guesses.
- 1Open with a vowel-heavy word
Starters like ARISE, ADIEU or STARE cover the most common letters in one shot.
- 2Eliminate, don't guess blind
Use guess two to test common consonants (R, T, N, S, L) even if you already have a candidate word.
- 3Watch for double letters
Words like SPEED or LLAMA repeat letters — a gray doesn't always rule a letter out if it could appear twice.
FAQ
Is this the official Wordle?
No — it's a free unlimited version: same rules, but you can keep playing instead of waiting for tomorrow's word. For the official daily puzzle and the NYT streak, play at NYT Games.
Is Wordle free to play?
Yes — both the unlimited version here and the NYT daily puzzle are free. The NYT version requires a free account to save stats.
Does the unlimited game have a daily word?
Each round picks a fresh word instantly. If you want everyone's-same-word daily play, that's the NYT original — most players do the daily for the streak, then unlimited rounds for practice.
What are good starting words?
Words rich in common letters: ARISE, STARE, CRANE, SLATE, AUDIO. Avoid rare letters (Q, Z, X, J) until the board narrows.
