Valor Mortis
First-person soulslike from One More Level (the Ghostrunner studio). You're William — a soldier of Napoleon's Grande Armée resurrected into a plague-ridden alternate 19th-century Europe.
The game
- ●Setting
Napoleon won and Europe is burning — a supernatural plague turned your former comrades into monsters. Metroidvania-style interconnected levels.
- ●First-person soulslike combat
Cutlass melee with block/dodge/parry timing, plus a scarce-ammo flintlock for staggering weak points. Death drops your unused Catalysts (upgrade currency) where you fell.
- ●Transmutations
Supernatural powers (flame bursts and more) layered onto melee as you grow stronger.
- ●Souls structure
Lantern checkpoints, respawning enemies, catalyst retrieval runs — familiar loop, first-person camera.

Early reception
Steam sits at Mostly Positive (77%) at launch week. Praise centers on the parry-heavy first-person combat and the Napoleonic-horror atmosphere; criticism targets the first-person camera readability in crowded fights and uneven difficulty spikes.
