Quick answer: searching "threshing game" or "threshing day dragon bonding" leads to Rebecca Yarros's Dragonkind game — the only official version. It needs an email code. Several free fan-made trials exist too, with no sign-up and no retry timer, if you just want a quick bonding run.

How a run goes

  1. 1
    Sign in and get placed

Enter your email, confirm the code, and you're assigned a Wing, Section and Squad — the same hierarchy cadets live under at Basgiath.

  2. 2
    Enter Threshing Valley

Choose whether to walk alone or with squadmates — this shapes which dragon encounters appear first.

  3. 3
    Survive the early scenes

A first dragon crosses your path (lower your eyes — it's almost never yours), then you'll hear a squadmate being bullied in the forest. Mercy here is linked to green and brown bonds; ruthlessness to red and orange.

  4. 4
    Tree or valley center

Climb the tallest tree for a view of the greens (and a rare third option — "follow the shadow" — that can appear at random), or cross the valley floor toward a waiting red.

  5. 5
    Bond or burn

Reach a bonding scene and you get a dragon result card — name, color, tail, age and lineage. Get burned and Threshing locks for 4 hours before you can run again.

Choice map — what players report

There's no official answer key, and part of the game is dice roll. These routes come from community playthroughs:

Dragon colors — fan reputation

Every color and tail type is possible (the official FAQ confirms this without publishing odds). How players read them:

Red

Quick to anger, fiercely loyal once bonded — the most reliable route runs through the valley center.

Green

Rational and intellectual. Greens respect honesty and punish hesitation — the two-greens clearing is the deadliest scene.

Orange & Brown

Meadow dragons. Browns can be ridden up the tail; oranges are the least predictable — they burn more players at random than any other color.

Blue

Cold, powerful and exacting — reached through the shadow option or a reported ruthless meadow route.

Black

The rarest and most selective — only through the random shadow door. Cunning, patient, unsentimental.

Reading your card

Color isn't the whole result — record name, tail type, age and lineage too. Players also report that your phone's battery level may matter.

FAQ

Is the Dragonkind game free?

Yes — completely free, run by Yarros Ink. Over half a million players ran it on day one.

Why am I locked out?

Getting burned starts a 4-hour cooldown before you can retry — by design, not a bug.

Threshing Day the book?

That's the companion story collection (released September 29, 2026) — thirteen stories about the same ritual, not a game.

Dragonkin: The Banished?

An unrelated action RPG on Steam and consoles — different title, different franchise.
